Don't really care either way. If they can sing/speak in Korean that's enough to qualify them
-
is lana even still active. i forgot about her
-
no. im asking about the possibility of MORE white idols, not just ones we already know.
-
-
-
I don’t care.
-
cringe stay in western pop
kpop is the only genre thats global where asians even have a chance as succeeding

I don't know any white idols
-
I'm ok with it
or for example Russian born in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Sakhalin, etc. not to mention those from Yakutia (Sakha), Buryatia or Altai
but white white like someone who's koreabuu and wants to be an Idol? that would be bleeee
What about Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese etc kids that no Korean blood or history that go koreabo and want to become idols?
-

It will be interesting to test that theory with A2K, which is America to Korea project that JYPE and Republic will be bringing next year.
I'm not sure what Ethnicities will be included

i saw that, i dont think theyll be kpop, since im pretty sure jyp wants their foreign groups to follow their own languages, but then that picks up the question on why theyd go to korea
-
That's a good point...
I overlooked that
-
they are Asian tho
all Asia is ok, including central Asia as well
Middle East or South Asia is drastically different to Korea especially culturally, moreso than other western countries.
Regardless of what country Kpop is Korean pop. If any Asian can be an idol or most of a group is made up of non Koreans it kinda defeats the idea of Korean pop. It's more fitting to just call it Asian pop lol.

its called korean pop because of the language, not where the people are from.
-
theyre asian.
What about a brown Arab who doesn't speak Korean person in Kpop? Or a brown Indian? Or almost white looking Kazakhstani?

when did i say there was something wrong with white idols speaking korean? i said i only accept white idols that speak korean, so..
-
-
-
im talking abt people that only speak a little or the most common phrases and dont take time to learn more than that... the idols you mentioned are also trained, while most white idols just pass right from audition to debut.

I meant wrong as in what's the issue with them. A couple people have said no white idols in this thread and even you said you only want only 1 per few years as if it's a immigration policy lol so obviously not everyone is on board with the idea of white idols and seemingly Arab or South Asians...
-
they look out of place. Like, awkward? I dunno...
-
True, I do expect them non asian idols to train with same system as other idols though
-
-
-
-
yeah but they can make western pop great again
