i don't get the purpose of seperate chart for pure sales.

It's gonna be dominated by korean and japanese artists as only those industries are selling albums compared to others.

This is good. SPS is nowadays more important than pure sales for most artists.

This is a good idea. SPS gives a better idea how successful the album was overall.

Most western acts r dependent on streaming than pure sales so it'll be better for some who r weak in pure sales. What has Playlisting got to do with all this?

That’s how most western acts gather streams. Not all of them. Just those who depend on gp streams.

I meant kinda unfair to kpop groups as they don't have any such playlisting atleast for most of them.

Why will kpop groups even get playlisting? They aren't popular really. Bts is the only one who has made a mark when it comes to international sales. And in a way including streams is good. Many Kpop groups have huge physical album sales but bad streaming and charting in their own country itself.

I've come to learn that whenever BTS breaks a record, some sort of rules are changed in response. My theory on why they are adding that second chart is because BTS topped the first. They need a second one, one where westerns have the advantage to make themselves happy 🙃

Hope BTS tops both with 7.

I doubt it’s because of BTS. They putting out two charts for BTS to dominate isn’t really working against us. It just goes to prove BTS has the best parts of both worlds

Streaming pays literal dust compared to pure album sales. If you are a label or an act, you would give up every worthless stream on YT/Spotify for BTS/Seventeen/BP/NCT level album sales.
