It's good Gaeun and Chowon didn't make Iz*One

  • The token-stanning and pity-stanning in Kpop isn't a bad thing per say but when it comes to survival shows these kinds of stans don't know how to act.

Nobody well deny that ehat happened to Gaeun and Chowon wasn't unfair but be serious. They wouldn't have fit in Iz*One and you know it.

The problem wasn't so much that Gaeun was too old, but that she looked her age and the work she got done was very noticeable. She was more suited for mature concepts and not the one's Iz*One did. Imagine Gaeun sing 'O My' and 'Why So curious?' at her big age? She would have just made the group look imbalanced.

As for Chowon, she had the talent, obviously, but you know damn well she did not match the visual standard at the time. I say 'at the time' because anyone with eyes can see she got work done and lost weight before debuting with Lightsum, her current group.

If the token stans and pity stans had gotten their way, Iz*One would have been a Kepler 2.0 where the members lack any and all cohesiveness with only like 5 girls hard carrying the group.

  • Agreed completely. Chowon just didnt fit the look the producers wanted. Plus Gaeun's age might have interfered with Eunbi's leadership, which i believe was one of the most important reasons why Izone worked so well as a team. A good team usually has a strong leader and Korea's age politics is always an additional hurdle to navigate.

Team chemistry is a very tricky thing, all it takes is one person to unbalance things. Chowon and Gaeun might have worked just fine, but then again, they might have not. The producers obviously saw something that made them rig those two girls out and rig other members in to create the OG 12.

  • I disagree about Gaeun atleast. She would have fit the elegant concept of their titles very well

  • Agree. Gaeun does not fit cute concepts, neither does chowon. They’re also not that charismatic or have any special talents. Chowon has some talent but not outstanding and gaeun’s voice is hard on the ears. Izone has some members who are less talented than the average idol but at least their voices fit izone music, they fit the cute elegant girly concept, have charisma and the visuals which makes the group work better and makes them more balanced as a whole

  • Rigging and fraud is never a good thing, Izone fans should accept it instead of making excuses but then again kpop fans aren't exactly the most moral people on planet.

And Gaeun and Chowon made it into izone so is untrue to say they didn't made it, they were just rigged out.

Let's not pretend mnet chose the members which fit into the group, they chose the members which companies paid more

  • The rigging was for the best

The members who most likely were rigged are one of the most talented members in the group, getting more lines than the rest so yes they do fit into the group. Having said that, they could still get the same line up without rigging, just adding producer’s vote to it

  • Agreed completely. Chowon just didnt fit the look the producers wanted

Except that the 'producers' were supposed to be the voting public and they were cheated from what they 'wanted'.

Wizones trying to justify an act of injustice with nonsensical "does not fit" theories. "Fitting" is something managed by group producers.

After debut, fans get so emotionally invested that they imagine that the group-members are some divine destiny.. that is just delusion.

Anyway the fraud is long done, punished and even Izone is gone.. what is the point of this thread. Counter-history?

  • Nobody said it wasn't unfair, like I said. The point is if things were fair the group would have ended up like Kep1er. GP999 is a perfect example of the disater Iz*One could have been had the everything been 100% left up to fans to decide.

  • Most likely rigged in would have been Chaewon and Yuri.

Those are literally my top biases in all of K-pop so maybe I should not comment anything regarding the rigging :pepe-back-away:

  • Izone was divine destiny. Their birth marked the beginning of the 4th gen of Kpop and their death marked the beginning of the 4.5 generation. Their noble sacrifice paved the way for Next Level, which slew down the dragon known as Butter, and the birth of Ive, and the rest is history.

And rigging is a literal requirement for successful groups. Every single Produce group had huge success, IOI, Wanna One, X1, Izone.

Have you seen what happens to a group that's not rigged? You end up with Kep1er, a group with zero It Girls, and whose fandom is divided and has become as bad as Blinks on TW in terms of infighting.

  • I love Izone but please please no need to bring down other girls.

They are idols, we will never know who don't fit the concept unless they really do it

The first season that made IOI only had two people taken out in the early rounds, but IOI still has one of the best lineups in Kpop history.

Crazy though that IOI was really well put together, but Kepler just seems like a complete mess.

In chaewon case made no sense. If woolim paid so much to get her in, they would have had plan for her (a group or solo) after izone disband. The fact that woolim let chaewon go / Hybe bought her out, basically mean that Woolim really had no plan for her.

Chaewon was 1 of the girls that keep rising up in rank, especially after her center in To Reach You.

If you ask me, i think the two Japanese members had higher chance of being rigged in. My point is because of the final round of 1 vote. U see what happened to GP999. Koreans are not gonna vote for foreigners. Sakura could have just borderline made it like Xiaoting

Wizones are super delusional, even since 2 post groups hit big (one which is a Hybe group which don't need known members to hit big see Newjeans) you are going crazy with your delusions , why are you acting like Izone was some kind of SNSD lmao, they didn't even had that much public recognition to make some of you so delusional

The standards compared to back then has increased, but the only delusional one is you. You must have been living in a cave when IzOne was literally outselling Twice and Red Velvet and literally kick started the boom for album sales among girl groups. And they had no public recognition yet all their songs debuted in the top 10 on melon and their b sides all lined up the charts though, right?
