I think some genuinely don't know about kpop and can be impressed by some stuff they find if it lands right before their eyes

But yes for most of them it's like you say

Please elab. about Limesoda Wave. If you are talking about the group that debut in 2017, Snoop was on a version of SNSD's "The Boys (2011)" and on "Hangover (2014)" with PSY before then.

obviously there will be some who are cringy but maybe for others they are just discovering kpop like a lot of other people
