Fan wars aside. I just want to let it out how amazing it is that the biggest groups in the world belong to kpop. Even if we say this 5 years ago that kpop is going to go neck and neck with global western acts, people will laugh. But here we are.
I feel like even when fandoms fight, deep down both sides are proud that Kpop is doing extremely well.
So let’s be happy and if you guys wanna fight, please do but don’t take it too seriously. Kpop is our happy place

As an Asian-American, I've very proud to see kpop smash records here. We've needed Asian representation in music for a long ass time indeed.

Yea, same. A lot of users talk about how they want more appreciation and peaceful threads, but @ripia isn't totally wrong in pointing out time and time again that it's the triggering threads that get the engagement. Still when it gets too toxic, people leave. We need a better balance IMO.

Permabanned? That’s kinda harsh. Sorry to see Mona go. I always fight with her but I know she’s passionate about things that she loves. Like all of us

I appreciate this thread and the more positive content. It's really tiring to see all the silly troll threads. Although technically not an Asian American, I can really relate since I grew up there for over 20+ years and understand the issue of lack of representation. I'm happy its changing - although slowly.

an alt tried to "expose" Mona for a thread from a year ago titled somewhere along the lines Is BP One Hit Away From Being Respected In The Korean Industry(the comments and the thread op were heavily insulting bp etc). Mona defends herself, alt and mona get banned. Thankfully it's not a permaban anymore

As I stay away from that shit anyway, but I'm so glad for BTS, I wouldn't have gotten into them otherwise had it not been for their fine discography. They have contributed so much on the global stage and I wish I had stanned them earlier instead of sticking with some second gen hacks. They'll be back!

I'm proud of both, even when I only listen to one song from BTS. I just relate more to BP because I'm also a woman. People can fight and shade each other, but my only issue is when it gets below the belt.
