Beautiful Monster is a really good song, that second verse is chef's kiss plus the chorus, it just needed a better bridge/climax, if it had that, it woulda been as good as So Bad and a SOTY contender.
Koreans just have no taste. This Y2K nostalgia has to stop, it's a threat to what makes Kpop special and unique.
Tbh i saw this video that was the worst voices in Kpop and they put Sieun and Yoon in there because they have a shouting match on the mic and i think that is almost correct. I think the issue is that both of them are too powerful for the other. It takes away the build up and overwhelms the listener when both of them are adlibbing at the same time, or when one of them is belting and the other is adlibbing.
I did not notice it in earlier tracks but theyve been getting worse with successive comebacks to the point that it is now unbearable - yoon especially. I'm sure black eyed pilseung are making her sing like that but they need to reconsider - it's very off putting

But kpop is just pop in korean, it isnt like a different type of composition.
Mercy by Duffy is definitely not at all a KPop song, but Dancing Queen by SNSD definitely is!

Its sort of a shame because i think STAYC is like… mamamoo level talented, they just have strange direction from BEP.
Side note: whoever makes mamamoo music should maybe compose a track for STAYC…. Hmmmm
Sorry but that's not how you compare songs Newjeans songs like attention and Beautiful monster are tow songs that are from two different genre that have nothing to do with one another Newjeans songs are R&b inspired while Beautiful monster is some sort of campe fire song that is followed with an acoustic guitar so comparing them doesn't make sense
Beautiful Monster is a nice song but it wasn't title track material. And as a title track, the concept was blah and statement-less. I wish STAYC's company had a bigger budget. Even a MV in the style along the lines of OMG's Closer would have been nice. Closer had simple clothes and beautiful set design.
Beautiful monster release as title was a mistake imo, it doesn't have replay value and not memorable.
I really liked attention, it feels fresh
