Why do you think idols who are street dancers get praised less as dancers in the kpop industry

Depends on the group I guess
A.C.E for example did a lot on the streets of Hongdae before debut and later on everyone started to like the group equaly (and there was also a time where the member apeared in videos of 1 million dance studio and people were going crazy for the "dancers" wich were Jun and Wow if I remember corectly)

I’ve always noticed it’s the opposite actually. Freestyling is always “valued” more or people get downplayed as dancers.
I feel the members maybe less popular but they actually get way more credit usually.

Can most kpop stans even tell the difference between street dance and idol dancing.I usually see them call idol dancing hip hop lmao.

Wtf is a a lyrical dancer? Is that like a pacifist serial killer lol.
I don't think most people even idea of most idols dancing background only what they see them perform. Most idols don't have much specialisation in a particular style of dance when they become trainees so whatever looks clean and functional is what fans will judge them on. Plus it's not like much of kpop routines use anything that's too complex, dance groups easily eat up idols in a straight head to head.
One of the few idols that praised for their street dancing is Hyoyeon, she was in competitions using pop and locking before joining SM.
