Hmm...I used to love it but for some reason, it doesn't hit as hard for me as it used to. I still really like the chorus but this song kind of wavered on me. I also haven't listened to it in a while...maybe it's from me listening to it too much when I was obsessed or Weeekly making that sudden and strange transition into whatever Ven Para was.
It's still a great song nonetheless. I just don't vibe to it as much as I did.
It's such a good song i really don't understand why they didn't blow up with this song or the comeback because they followed it up with Holiday and it had the same vibes please Weekly let's pretend Ven Pera never happened let's go back to that type of songs and concept

I only listen to "After School" when I rewatch (select) Weeekly MVs. It's not as strong, from start to finish, as I would like to play with the songs I do like in their catalog.
You got that right..."Ven Para" was strange (in an unappealing way). The MV was dressed up visually, but the music just wasn't catalog..so disappointing and out of "code" that I ignored it like it never dropped in my multiverse.

If it was released by pretty much any other group with a girl group with an overall girl crush concept, that would've been better.
But the concept change is too sudden and came out of nowhere pretty much when their group concept has been pretty bright and teen crush.
As a song, it's messy but it's not bad. The rap was probably the best part of the song, the choreography is amazing, and the chorus is alright. Not to mention, the girls absolutely slayed. Monday, Jihan, Soeun and Zoa...stood out to me the most in this comeback...they actually really suit this concept! It was just too soon and so sudden

I agree that concept change was too sudded but Ven Para is really good song imo, I especially like the chorus and choreography.
There aren't many songs I go out of my way to listen to. I listen to so much music that I may be really in to a song for 2 days and be on to the next one.
Like, the song I am into right now is some random indie artist I found on instagram. I'll probably play her song today and that's it.
I just put my Apple Music on shuffle and let it run, and all I can say is if Afterschool came on right now, I would not skip it, which means I am still pretty into it.

I guess the company thought they'll gain more fans thru it. Their next comeback should show the results
