I just have a soft spot for blue gradients too if I can be honest, they are just so soothing to look at
Soft blues are so calming. We need more aesthetic options for it

I always love when I get to make color badges for fandoms that have soft blue colors

I have finally reached my point of internal acceptance in which very few, if any, will match. Sad but true.
They’re so pretty! I really hope they win too.

It is, it really is. I also like them but don’t. In matching group sets, it feels more cohesive and like they’re an actual group in terms of badges if that makes sense. It also makes it easier to display all the members of a given group and have them match each other.
On the other hand, there are some badge sets where some members look great and others less so (colors don’t suit them as well, some have weird hairstyles or facial expressions and things like that), so if all of them were to be matching, some members might look a bit better than others. Having them be different also emphasizes just how different each member is and gives people more options in which member to display. More variety means a higher chance at least one member will match their aesthetics.
It has it’s pros and cons for sure, but I lean much more heavily in favor of them. Fun fact: that’s why when I submit member badges I almost always submit them in matching sets: so that there’s a higher chance of at least some of them being the same (if any of mine even win that is). I also use group photoshoots, group advertisements and comeback teasers a lot, so it’s not hard to find matching pictures for most of them.

the only way to make them match is to submit them as sets. there are two options, to either submit them as individuals or as sets.
we didn't have many sets because it's really hard to find a set when all members have nice pics
bunny and i went through hell to make those 7 sets the member Q's pic were always debatable. 10 perfect pics and then there's him
bts, stray kids, the boyz, day6, txt (i might forget someone) were submitted as sets. poor beomgyu face but we had to compromise, moa were REALLY into that set, they didn't want to accept anything else lol. at least we ended up with one member's face covered, we started with 3 lol
Changed my vote for the group badges if they helps you lmao. Seems like a lot of ppl want the blue.
vote for what you like! i'm just here to help :) i'll switch votes if fans want that :)

Nah, it's fine. I was thinking of changing it anyway. I like the pink and the blue, so when I saw a lot of people liked the blue and said not a lot of GGs have that color but a lot have pink, I was already half convinced to change it. So no worries.

Wait, there’s an option to submit them as sets? This is news to me, I never knew this could be done. I just thought that the reason why groups had matching sets was that they DMmed each other and told everyone which ones to vote for in order for everything to match and it ended up working out. That does make sense though. How is it decided whether submissions will be made as individuals or sets?

Yeah doesitneedsaying could tell you all about what happened with The Boyz badge event. They actually did end up with a matching set... the problem was we had a very difficult time finding sets that worked. Usually we'd find a photoshoot we'd like, but then 1 or 2 members would look off in the photoshoot. By that, I mean they break the rules. One member might be looking off to the side, they might be covering a lot of their face with their hand, etc.
We did manage to find a few set badges for them, and they do look nice, but it was incredibly difficult. This is an 11 member group, so difficulties only become higher with larger groups.
I feel like most people don't intend to buy all or most of the badges. Sure if you're a big fan you will, but most are interested in like 1 member, so they'll buy their fave and that's about it. They would also be multis, so they'll likely display their fave badge with other kinds of badges.
I do get the appeal of set badges. It's satisfying to see them match, and if you plan on getting multiple, it's pretty great, but yeah I would rather have the members look at their best rather than settle for sub-par or okay to get a set to work, and given how people buy badges, the usual way of doing it makes sense.

Typically if some people from a fandom voice that they want sets, we go with it. That's what happened in The Boyz and Day6's badge event in my experience.

That is true. I’m not that way at all. I buy The whole group or none usually, because I don’t want people to assume I’m a solo stan or an actual akgae or anything like that. You do have a very good point about the multis though.
I agree, the usual way of doing it does make sense with how people buy badges.

all users have to agree to go with sets. but people prefer to do individuals because in sets some members have questionable shots. also, idols have solo activities and more options and their fans prefer them.
take my jhope custom badge as an example.
this is from his solo
2nd gen jhope badge is from a set
i don't like the pic but i like jhope so i bought it lol

the submission period has always been 3 days but it was so hard to find any set, we asked quarkie to extend it, i think we had 2 sets after 3 days
we somehow made 7 sets but notice that top 3 were sets where members look at the camera. and like you said, pics that were included break the rules

Yup... that's an 11 member group for you
TXT is a 5 member group so you'd think they'd be better but we still ended up with that Beomgyu bubble badge.
I've seen you post it, we had better options like that cute set Dummi made arghhh
And the final Day6 set has like 2 members looking off to the side. Neither of those two badges would have been allowed under current rules
