    It's crazy how weak the big 3's third gen girl group solo careers have been so far
    When you looking at the Big 3's third gen girl groups: TWICE, BLACKPINK and RED VELVET, it's staggering how undeveloped they are at this point in time, almost 7 years into their career.

    Looking at each of them:
    • TWICE
      • Completely non-existent until Nayeon's first solo past couple weeks
      • Not like it's any of the members' faults, but still has yet to do anything significant
    • BLACKPINK
      • Credit to them cos they have good success due to huge fanbase, especially Jennie's SOLO, which is a well-known song that

    Successful careers

    SM : Taeyeon (she’s the only successful 2nd gen soloist the rest went to acting or cfs)

    Yoona, Jessica, Seohyun, (Tiffany and Sooyoung ? Idk) Krystal


    JYP : Sunmi and Suzy


    YG : well...all of them aren’t doing that great.


    Vs


    YG : Lisa, rosé, Jennie and Jisoo


    JYP : Nayeon so far


    SM : RV girlies are doing quite well, Irene lost her momentum but she still huge. Joy had a successful debut imo and she’s endorsing CK, Tod and a beauty brand I think.

    Yeri is really underestimated she does a lot of magazine and cfs.


    3rd GG will have a better longevity

    hmmm.... Yuri also have a really successfull career

    her last drama ended with an average viewership of 9.8%

    Acting career wise I agree. But I feel if jisoo gets a good show without unnecessary confusion and controversy she can do well. And it shouldn't be a snooze fest.

    Solo music wise I'd say it's going okay, need more comebacks and obviously if idols themselves are interested in music.

    2nd gen:

    SM:

    F(x) Victoria and Krystal

    SNSD: Yoona, Taeyeon, Jessica. Seohyun's dramas do decently.


    JYP: Suzy, Yerin and kinda Sunmi


    YG: Dara and CL


    3rd gen:

    SM: Irene and Joy

    JYP: Nayeon (so far and she already did better than Suzy and Sunmi tbh) Sana and Tzuyu doing well is a given tbh

    YG: Jennie, Rosé, Lisa. Jisoo just needs a better project


    Personally I think 3rd gen does a bit better. 2nd gen had a lot of idols that were popular in their groups but couldn't make it on their own. 3rd gen has a lot more solo supporters, they just started a lot later
