Do you think non-Koreans/Foreigners can still become singers in Korea?

Yes. Think about Bam Bam, Lisa, Rose, Sana, Mina, Momo, Ni-Ki, Felix, Chan, Jake, Fatou and so on. There are plenty of them I can list just from the top of my head. If they can do it, then I don't see why other non-Koreans/foreigners shouldn't be allowed to.

yes but dont expect to accepted as one of them "authentic kpop idols" if you're not east asian or south east asian with east asian look

european mixes seem pretty accepted too

basically, dont look or sound too different for them, or no matter how skilled you are, you will always be THE FOREIGNER

You see, my take on this whole "foreigner become Kpop idol" is generally one of confusion.

For one, why go out of your way to become a celebrity in a smaller music market where you'll have a harder time being accepted in the industry versus just pursing a career in music in your own country??? Kpop is, after all, just pop music and you don't need to be in the Korean entertainment industry to be a pop idol.

For another, the non asian foreigners who do pursue being a Kpop idol have like ZERO star quality. I'm sorry, but I have to say it. If you wouldn't be able to become a star in your own country what makes you think you have what it takes to become one in a foreign one? They don't meet the visual standards, they can't dance, and they can't sing. They stick out too much and just feel like a token member.

That being said, is it possible to find success as a non asian foreigner? I definitely think so. The problem is, it needs to be a project made by a big named company that doesn't just pick up the first foreigner that they can find off the streets of Hongdae. That, and they need good marketing and good production and to be promoted a lot more to the West than to the East.

SM, JYP, and Bighit are planning to do localized groups soon, so will we see. While I don't have any faith in SM when it comes to capturing rhe Western Market, I think JYP and Bighit definitely have the potential to hit it big with their groups.
