Why do people say kpop groups have "fallen off" when they haven't?

In regards to Twice, I guess it's the charting, but the girlies are still pretty successful. Had a good tour. We're going to be seeing more solo stuff like Nayeon's upcoming album for instance, which will be an interesting point in their career. And they are still releasing tons of quality music. Like, I get that people feel meh about Scientist, but the album still had tons of b-side bangers. The subunit songs were new and fun, and their other releases like The Feels and Alchohol Free were great too. Overall, I think they have been giving quality stuff even if some songs don't hit here and there.
Also, the girls are likely going to be million sellers soon, which is great. Wish some of my faves flopped like that lol.
I wish that kpoppies didn't put so much emphasis on charting. There are some great mid-tier and nugu groups out there putting out good stuff but kpoppies don't care because they are "irrelevant".

I feel like twice are more popular internationally but they're still a top selling girl group, so I don't get the falling off part. Maybe it was their concept chnge that made some dislike their musical style? And as you're saying about Scientist, I think that was their strongest album in regard to b-sides

I guess charting wise in SK, Scientist didn't do as well as past releases, which is where I could see the "falling off" idea coming from. But eh, it's still a quality and good selling release. Like, Twice is doing fine and is really successful regardless.

Yeah for sure. They did quite well with the album still and wouldn't consider them falling off. In my opinion, their music has gotten better since the concept change
