I remember before she debuted, someone made a thread about her being a visual, lmao, and people really tried to say she did not fit Korean beauty standards and wasn't that pretty.

Seems to me she does based on what K-netz are saying.

I'm not saying she is someone like Irene/Suzy/Yoona, who are what K-netz consider the perfect visual. But someone who the majority agree she's beautiful. Like Winter or Ryujin. These people are still considered visuals, but they aren't considered a Jang Wonyoung.

Yeah, I know. I think we are saying the same thing. Just with different end opinions.

From what I gather from what you are saying, you are saying she does not fit the traditional beauty standard, which may or may not be true. I don't think she does either, but Koreans may or may not argue differently. And, I'm not Korean so I can only go based on the pattern I have observed.

But, I think she fits the trendy beauty standard, like Jennie and whatever other trendy beauty. I see both the trendy and traditional beauty standards as Korean beauty standards, which is why I said I think she fits the Korean beauty standard.

However, some people may only think that the traditional beauty standard is relevant when speaking about beauty standards, which I think is where my opinion diverges. It just does not make sense to me to say someone is a visual and they don't fit some kind of Korean beauty standard. If they are considered a beauty by the public, then they have to be meeting some kind of standard, so that's the only way to wrap my head around it.
