June 6 is South Korea's Memorial Day and you guessed it - 현충일 means Memorial Day! I call out thanks to our KPOP faves because we would not be aware of and celebrating this thoughtful day otherwise. As is AKP appropriate, this means Akorn weekend is being extended into Monday and we can thank our KPOP faves for that too!!
Make sure to gather yours during these extended festivities! Now let the akorns fall!

A thoughtful Memorial Day to remember the 137,899 military deaths and estimated 387,740 civilian deaths in South Korea that occurred during the 1950-1953 war.
According to Wikipedia, during the first communist occupation of Seoul alone, the North Korean Army massacred 128,936 civilians and deported another 84,523 to North Korea.
I hope some of us can use this day to remember the cost of South Korea's freedom.
