One thing that made BTS stand out among 3rd gen and now even 4th gen

  • Is that they had the ability to hype a crowd to insane levels.

When they released hype songs and performed them,

they were able to make people lose control, scream their asses off or even get chills

yeah other groups had their moments or will have their moments in the future

but this was something that was consistent about BTS

It wasn't just a moment or two
It was them and they were hard to ignore

Regardless of whether they were doing choreo or not

When they started performing in the US

Even without the added angles camera work to make the performance look amazing

They were still capable of putting on a performance.

ANOTHER THING is that even when they were not performing "hype" songs

and had tracks like YOUNG FOREVER for example,

they were capable of making people FEEL every word.

  • yesssss their performances have never failed to make me feel the way it was intended to.

    Best answer already :pepe-high-five:

Because their specialty is that they are able to transfer their energy and the entire vibe of the song to their audience be it sad, happy, angry, etc.

  • Exactly :pepe-sad: their hold on me is so strong that even when they release songs I don't like as much I can't let go :pepe-simp: and I'll still watch it.

Amazing stage presence 24/7. Specially J-Hope, he was born for the stage. He enjoys every.single.moment on it.

Choreography ALWAYS on point, and they never look bored. I can't say the same about some other groups that I casually like to listen to.

BH (and HYBE) also has very good planning for stage performances, props, transition etc. I think we often forget that there's also a lot of work behind the scenes (not to say our boys don't deserve the hype though).

It's been a while but I still see their Wembley concert as one of their best performances. And the Muster in the same year.

  • Talking about choreography, I was watching BWL dance practice just yesterday and that showed why they are where they are.

They don't perform because it's a job. They do it because they like it. They enjoy performing. See the smiles on their faces in this one. It's there because they enjoy their music. They enjoy performing it. And this is just a dance practice.

If someone enjoys performing their songs so much, imagine them perform those songs in front of their fans. Now you know why BTS are great.

  • True, they are once in a lifetime performers.

But honestly they have so many things going for them from music to charming personalities to excellent performances.

  • Exactly. :pepe-puddle::pepe-simp:

Sometimes I'm afraid that due to their popularity people might say they're "overhyped", but that's because they've never seen their performances.

When people ask why, as a 30-ish year old, I like a k pop group, well... I always say "Just watch one of their performances". That's not a project to "woo" teenagers. Those guys are real pros.

  • I agree. Not a stan, but I noticed right away that their performances abilities were above other kpop groups. The only ones who could match them in consistency imo, are Bigbang and TVXQ.

People often point out reasons on why they are so popular. But as a non-fan the only solid reason I can think (One thing that makes them eye catching above the rest of the industry) are their performances.
