It's very dislikable when people use other idols as a shield when their fav gets into trouble

    When someone gets accused, people use other idols and their mental health as a shield for their fav.


    Some of those accusations are freaking serious too


    Boy groups stans have been doing that shit recently to Taemin, sometimes literally to defend scumbags. Everytime someone does that they become less than shit eating pigs to me.


    I'm not a petty person but anytime someone brings SHINee to defend their fav from accusations, I take a note to avoid them.


    This is one action of fandom for me that makes me go out of my way to not listen to that group.

    Believe me as a shawol my boys are some sorta of gotcha moment for piece of shit kpop fans


    I know how bad that feels as a fan


    Literally the same people who don't give a fuck about Jennie and Taemin's mental health when hating on them, will use them as an example to defend their favs

    I agree. Even if you don't personally think whatever your fave did is that bad, then just stand behind that opinion. You don't have to be like "yeah, well what about X?!?" as if that nullifies whatever your fave did.


    Or hell, just stay out of the conversation. You're not required to talk about stuff you don't want to.

    If your best defense is using another idols mental health, then that's very telling

    I really hate this, as well. Just stick to the topic instead of trying to deflect. When people start dragging other idols into stuff, they sound like they're 8 years old because that's what children do. The only time I think this works is if you're framing it as part of a larger argument, in which case, wording is super important. For example, "Yes my fave did xyz and this is part of a larger issue, which you can see by the fact that these other idols also did xyz. So it doesn't make sense to single out one person while ignoring that this is a bigger issue. Let's talk about the issue itself."


    That's not usually what folks do though.

    If someone pretends to be a fan of idol A, while hating idol B, while actually stanning idol C, they are a fake fan of idol A.

    That's a different topic from people who genuinely stan idol A while hating idol B.

    Looking at akp and Twitter if people who weapoize Taemin's mental health are fake fan then they have been playing a long con game over multiple years to convince people they stan those groups.


    It happens on such a large scale that makes about 0 sense to call all of them fake fans

    You mentioned the use of other idols as a shield yourself.

    And it happens a lot more than you think.

    You also started talking about it in a general sense, but seems it's a more specific case for you.

    It is dislikable in general to me but like most people I am biased and I feel stronger toward it when my fav group is target of such harassment at the hand of fandoms who have no better points for defense.


    Wouldn't stop me frowning upon it when it's other groups targeted.

    I understand, but that is also why I started talking in general terms.


    Anyway, I think there is a misunderstanding.
