IU and Big Bang are in classes of their own, but neither one "releases the same song over and over". Twice has been digitally inconsistent for the past couple years now. I don't really know what other examples there are?

That's not really true tho. In recent years it's become clear for most "digimon" artists that success is extremely song dependent. Heize, Zion.t, Bol4, Zico, Epik High are all good examples.

A little surprised because "Journey to Atlantis" is only charting in top 100 on Bugs, not on any other chart (EDIT: they just broke top 100 on genie) - I'm surprised music shows are inviting them back on but I hope they're able to get their moment too.

"Zeze" was on the same album as "23". You said "23" was in REPONSE to being shunned by kpop. "23" and "zeze" were released the same time. And again "zeze" was an issue with knetizens, not with kpop. By your logic, she would've thrown a tantrum in 2017 but she didn't.

When was IU ever shunned in 2015? She had 3 major hits in 2014 ("meaning of you", "friday", and "not spring love cherry blossoms"), she released "Heart" in 2025 and starred in Infinite Challenge where her song set chart records. But how did Brave Girls provoke IU? A youtube channel posted their viral video (had nothing to do with BG or BB's own choice) and Brave Girls stopped promotions before IU's comeback.

The records will show that IU extended her PAK and chart topping with this comeback. People don't really look at what happens weeks after release. EXID, GFriend and Brave Girls - the duration for someone from the bottom is 12 months

I have never really supported acts from smaller companies, because they lack the capital to promote overseas.

A lot of people think Brave Girls will lead KPop, but personally I don't think so.

Of course, Brave Brother is probably super hyper now. A guy always shooting from the hip, he will probably be thinking bigger future for BG, but similar thoughts were had by the owners of EXID and GFriend respectively.

EXID had one great year, 2015, following the fancam boom but from 2016 it had to rely on…

That is a very big assumption. Viral songs in the past have typically not had the best longevity. Regardless, "Rollin" will need to maintain >100k ULs per day over "Celebrity" for 6 months to make up the 1.5 month lead. Songs after the top 5 are 30-50k ULs apart. You do the math yourself.

IU is so good at personal story-telling - it's the trait that sets her apart both as a lyricist (continually writing songs that koreans are able to relate to) and as an actress (she's able to sincerely understand her roles to bring them to life).

Highly unlikely - do you understand how ULs and streams work? "Celebrity" has a 1.5 month lead in tracking over "Rollin" and its peak was higher (higher ULs and streams than Rollin's peak). You have a fundamental misunderstanding of why Brave Girls is so loved in South Korea right now. Their sound is NOT any more Korean than any other kpop song, it's because people see them as a hardworking rags-to-riches Cinderella story that managed to overcome prejudice by not giving up. Similar to Gfriend's 2016 performance where they repeatedly got up again in the rain after falling.

"celebrity" also dropped 150-200k ULs on the 2nd day, that pattern is pretty normal since IU's first day ULs are so high comparatively.

IU has the kind of korean fanbase that will listen to her album immediately and sell out all of her concerts. She said last year she was planning on holding a concert at Olympic Stadium (capacity = 70k) before pandemic hit - she'd be the first female artist in history to have a concert there.

I agree, that's why I said in my original comment IF what SSA said is true, there's not really a way for Soojin to come out looking innocent regardless of the other allegations. Soojin/Cube will need to respond strongly.
