They are fickle fans yes but still fans. Lol.
I wouldn't really call casual/fickle fans as part of a "fandom". Casual fans aren't stans. If they aren't feeling the song, they won't stream.

Display MoreOfc I’m in specific talking about artists like IU. People who have hits and flops on the chart are different.
But groups like Big Bang, BP, Twice or soloists like IU hell even that show SMTM songs they are often fandom driven.
These ppl are often given the credit of being “GP”
If ppl consistently stream your songs, it’s fandom support.
IU and Big Bang are in classes of their own, but neither one "releases the same song over and over". Twice has been digitally inconsistent for the past couple years now. I don't really know what other examples there are?
ready for our new summer queens!
So braves girls is not overtaking IU, but IU is being blocked by Astro on Genie (weird) and by I-do-not-know-who and Wendy in Bugs.
https://www.genie.co.kr/chart/top200?
it's zombie streaming hours for bugs and genie right now, wendy and IU should both rise again in the morning.
top 3 melon UL gap is still quite big.
considering how high and how long IU's bsides chart on korean charts (her entire album is still charting high on ichart), is your implication that IU has a bigger fanbase in south korea than bts? tbh this depends on how someone defines fanbase bc IU's first 24hr unique listeners show that she does have a loyal listener base, just don't know if that's enough to qualify as "fan-driven".
deserved title! excited to see what brave brothers produces next for them too.
A little surprised because "Journey to Atlantis" is only charting in top 100 on Bugs, not on any other chart (EDIT: they just broke top 100 on genie) - I'm surprised music shows are inviting them back on but I hope they're able to get their moment too.
The Zeze fiasco was huge, and it did break IU for the time and on 2016 she did not sing.
And when she returned with Through the Night on 2017 the lyrics were much tamer
"Zeze" was on the same album as "23". You said "23" was in REPONSE to being shunned by kpop. "23" and "zeze" were released the same time. And again "zeze" was an issue with knetizens, not with kpop. By your logic, she would've thrown a tantrum in 2017 but she didn't.
Brave Brothers used to work as one of YG's producers long time ago, didn't he?

And how the tables turn now.... https://www.koreaboo.com/news/…g-hyun-suk-brothers-diss/
BTW this:
is also not correct. Source Music was started by a former manager at S.M. Entertainment. Bang Sihyuk of Big Hit is who used to work for JYP, and JYP has remained friendly/on good terms with Bang PD.
They might release a single in May and use BBMA's as comeback stage. I see korean album in July/August.
23 was kind of a tantrum thrown by her because KPop was shunning her
When was IU ever shunned in 2015? She had 3 major hits in 2014 ("meaning of you", "friday", and "not spring love cherry blossoms"), she released "Heart" in 2025 and starred in Infinite Challenge where her song set chart records. I agree that "23" was a clapback but she was clapping back at knetizens. Did you even listen to the lyrics?
The records will show that IU extended her PAK and chart topping with this comeback. People don't really look at what happens weeks after release. Case in point, BBIBBI did not actually have the classic IU longevity but it'll always be remembered as a hit because it set records for first 24hr ULs and still managed to PAK.
Brave Brother wrote a lot of Sistar's summer hits, and his songs to BG are also kind of summer songs. When it gets hotter Rollin will get stronger while Celebrity is a winter song so it will get weaker.
ThreadEXID, GFriend and Brave Girls - the duration for someone from the bottom is 12 monthsI have never really supported acts from smaller companies, because they lack the capital to promote overseas.
A lot of people think Brave Girls will lead KPop, but personally I don't think so.
Of course, Brave Brother is probably super hyper now. A guy always shooting from the hip, he will probably be thinking bigger future for BG, but similar thoughts were had by the owners of EXID and GFriend respectively.
EXID had one great year, 2015, following the fancam boom but from 2016 it had to rely on…
That is a very big assumption. Viral songs in the past have typically not had the best longevity. Regardless, "Rollin" will need to maintain >100k ULs per day over "Celebrity" for 6 months to make up the 1.5 month lead. Songs after the top 5 are 30-50k ULs apart. You do the math yourself.
I think that because of the fanatic fans of Brave Girls, Rollin will beat Celebrity at the melon yearly #1 ranking. Many of BG's fans, who didn't know or care who were BG until Viditor had put the fancam, were IU's fans but they have moved to BG because their sounds are more 'Korean'.
Highly unlikely - do you understand how ULs and streams work? "Celebrity" has a 1.5 month lead in tracking over "Rollin" and its peak was higher (higher ULs and streams than Rollin's peak). "Rollin" will need more than 6 months to catch up without losing any of its viral steam. It's possible, but again highly unlikely.
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of why Brave Girls is so loved in South Korea right now. Their sound is NOT any more Korean than any other kpop song, it's because people see them as a hardworking rags-to-riches Cinderella story that managed to overcome prejudice by not giving up. Similar to Gfriend's 2016 performance where they repeatedly got up again in the rain after falling.
