The only way JTBC can resolve this is if sooho is not north korean. So better hope that's the plot twist/change.

did you even read ? they're not justified NSA .
Is Snowdrop glorifying the ANSP (Agency for National Security Planning) and military dictatorship government?
- NO
According to the recently released videos, there are lines that are clearly criticizing the ANSP and the government, and most of the scenes are showing vicious atrocities of them. If JTBC really wanted to glorify the ANSP and the government, they should have excluded all of those scenes from the drama.
Early episodes of the Snowdrop showed how ANSP could be atrocious through the scenes of Lee Kang-moo and Jang Han-na. And the early scene of the meeting of the members of Aemin party and the council shows the dark side of the ANSP at that time.
From the main teaser video of the drama, the dormitory inspector is saying "The ANSP could make everyone in the dorm to a spy", and this line clearly criticizing the vicious atrocities of the ANSP and the government.
What is the male lead of snowdrop and how did jisoo's character fine him ?
and what is the problem again ? maybe a plot hole or it will reveal later ?I'll say it again slowly for you.
NSA justified their actions in the 1980s because they claimed NK spies would hide among students, hence why they'd need to search and interrogate university students.
Survivors from that era deny ANY EXISTENCE of NK spies among university students. NSA simply said that as justification to spread fear and humiliation.
What is the male lead of snowdrop and how did jisoo's character find him?
Wait, don't tell me - you haven't even seen the episodes yet? LOL

I’m speaking in a natural tone please.
Defending… lol at least quote me completely… I said it’s not that unrealistic that they will get a warrant, they would get it anyway no matter if it’s warranted or not. This article is explaining the the national intelligence of Korea and the different stages it took. It’s from 1999. It’s an unbiased source. So no Snowdrop propaganda here.
"So this scene doesn’t seem that unrealistic, especially not since they were at a prestigious women institution."
Reality: SNU and Yonsei students were being tortured to death. Why do you think a prestigious women's university would be exempt? By implying "they would act better at a prestigious women's university" (which I have seen you use this defense in multiple comments), you ARE humanizing the NSA.
-
I quoted your exact words. What's dangerous is that I'm sure you do consider yourself a reasonably critically-thinking person, who would never just blindly support their faves. And even here you're using language that is defending/humanizing the NSA.
Now imagine people are even less likely to critically think and instead just consume the drama at face value. That's why people say this drama is dangerous. Thanks for exhibiting this example so cearly tho.

About the warrant… this is what this article says.
“The security presence in city centers, near university campuses, government and party offices, and media centers was heavy. Citizens, particularly students and young people, were subject to being stopped, questioned, and searched without due process. The typical response to demonstrations was disruption by large numbers of Combat Police, short-term mass detention of demonstrators, and selective prosecution of the organizers. Arrest warrants--required by law--were not always produced at the time of arrest in political case“
According to this Article there was a Law that a warrant was required. Nevertheless they often didn’t got one and just did what they wanted like you said, but some seem to have got a warrant. So this scene doesn’t seem that unrealistic, especially not since they were at a prestigious women institution.
You're already falling into the trap. You believe "just because they said they'd always use a warrant means of course they used a warrant" + "they wouldn't act that badly at a prestigious women institution".
Park Jong Cheol, who was waterboarded to death, was a Seoul National University student. Lee Han-yeol, who died after being smashed by a tear gas cannister at a protest ON YONSEI CAMPUS, was a Yonsei University student.
Do you not see you're a prime example of potential harm? You're already believing the NSA couldn't have been THAT terrible, ALL the time. You're sure they followed SOME laws. They must have respected SOME students. That is the trap of this drama.

Problem is this isn't a true vaccine. A True vaccine is something like a polio vaccine prevent you from ever getting it. Where's covid is a weak version of a vaccine doesn't prevent infection. Proto vaccines like this are dangerous because the offending virus still has hosts to infect propogate survive and mutate hence omicron etc the longer a virus stays around the higher the chance it gets dealier. We need to create a true vaccine to this crap or we will forever be getting booster shots for covid 2022 -23-24-25-26 etc for fucking ever. Like how the flu is
Not true at all. Polio and flu/covid are completely different illnesses. Also the longer and more a respiratory virus mutates often the less severe it becomes. There are still remnant strains of the 1918 flu in today's flu strains but they are much weaker than the inital flu in 1918-1920 that killed millions. Don't spread false information scaring people on covid vaccines.
Btw, omicron is shaping up to be milder, but more infectious, than delta.

Jimin is who hooked me too. I had no interest in boy groups before then.

I'm not backreading, why does this thread have 15 pages
no offense OP but weird digital points for a collab award are the least sketchy thing about MMA, have you already forgotten that they strategically sliced out the week (literally just that one week) that IU released Love Poem so none of those songs would qualify for MMA last year lol
Award shows are all the same, don't take them so seriously
-
true national beloved singers

highly doubt it's a clapback, I doubt BTS or their stage producers ever give a thought anymore about gaon and if they do, I'd rather they use that effort on bigger more productive things. it's enough that they don't attend the award show anymore. tbh even without what happened in 2017 I don't think BTS would've continued to attend much longer - Gaon doesn't give out daesangs and it's not usually an "anticipated" award show. some armys are a little too obsessed with the "karma is an army" narrative and imo there's no need for BTS or their team to concern themselves w these kind of past disputes considering their current height and status.

isn't considered by what rule? LMAO.
it's not any hard rule - just what i've noticed from past remake songs. IU's "meaning of you" was one of the biggest hits of 2014 but it wasn't seriously up for SOTY (even tho it was nominated) because it was a remake.
unless you can find a single remake song in history that's won SOTY....
it's similar to the unspoken rule that collabs and features don't really win SOTYs either. I think the only exception was "boy with love" but the feature wasn't with a korean artist. You're also welcome to try to find any collab songs that won SOTY. these are just my observations as someone who's followed kpop since 2010.

I just think that Celebrity ULs dropped too much after the first day and that her Gaon digital isn't that stable like Next Level and Dynamite. Maybe Celebrity and LILAC is still considered a hit, but I do not have the feeling that they are super hit songs like Dynamite, Next Level, Any Song, etc...)
"Celebrity" is going to end up as the #1 song on Gaon's annual digital chart at the end of the year. Imagine saying the number 1 song of the year (other gaon number 1 songs: Any Song, Love Scenario, Cheer Up, etc) isn't a hit
If Celebrity isn't a hit then I guess there's nothing worth celebrating with Next Level surpassing it on certain charts
Next Level is a bop but I doubt itll be a serious contender for any SOTY - typically remake songs aren't considered.

Actually Rollin will probably overtake Lilac this week and cement its Yearly #1 status.
IU's failure to strangle Brave Girls shows her weakness
I'll give you a tip. Melon annual charts tend to mirror Gaon annual charts very closely at year-end. Currently on Gaon "Celebrity" has 346,533,707 digital points for 2021 and "Rollin" has 180,107,600 digital points. You can follow along every week to check the gap.

Her international growth really blew up starting in 2019 with Hotel del luna - her instagram followers and youtube subscribers grew like crazy after that drama started airing in SEA/other parts of Asia. Within 1 year she passed Suzy and Taeyeon on social media and still has crazy growth.
-
like i said she was popular and i know good day was her hit song
Good day spent 5 weeks at n1 on Gaon digital
but what i mean is even if she was really popular
it's not until 2014 that she really become this monstruous digital artist
who have songs charting directly at No1 and staying number 1 weeks and weeks
Last Fantasy is the most digitally downloaded album in Gaon history and she's been getting PAKs every year since 2010 (except for 2016 when she didn't release any songs). But I agree that 2014 was the start of her 2nd career peak and it marked a transition in her career where she switched from being a popular trendy idol (2010-2013) to established powerhouse (2014 to now).
-
WhyKnock Weren't you crying weeks ago about how "Lilac" would be the beginning of IU's Korean decline
Meanwhile, "Lilac" has 265 PAKs so far and it's still sitting on top of the charts after 3 weeks
