Ladida was one of the Best Kpop song released that year ( i remember some articles putting the song in their tops) Untouchable is a fucking bop, and the rest of the song are nice too. So what happen, why Everglow don't experiment a growth in their sales like many Kpop groups did during the pandemic? :wilds:

Because everglow wasn't consistent and released first right after this, which is outdated EDM. They went back to an out of the boc concept with Pirate which was a step in the right direction but it could never be a hit, because again the EDM is overdone. They should try something new and I know Yuehua has the resources to do it given Yena's solo

It was their only promoted release this year, but they had Red Sun and After We Ride.

idk we'll have to see with their next comeback but it's not really looking good so far :gaycat6:

Those were older songs that the public happened to find though. Its only natural that happened. Like overexposure isnt really going to make you fail. It can happen, but for a group of their status, ofc they need to be overexposured so people know who they are.

They released another single and it didn’t do well but it was unpromoted I heard they will cb on January

Tbf it seemed like Brave Brothers was just taking his sweet time with the PR back in March when they first exploded in popularity and it didnt make sense to release a repackage for BG of all groups, as if they have a fandom that will pay for everything. So yeah probably not the best marketing

As frustrated as I am I think maybe it was for the better that they didn't have a ton of releases when they first broke out. It'll result in overexposure and little to no career longevity. We're already...kinda seeing this with Brave Girls as they had multiple releases this year + they were everywhere, and CMBR failed to live up to expectations as a result.

And tbh overworking is a big problem in KPOP, especially when the group in question is the company's breadwinner(like WM/OMG) so I'm glad this wasn't the case.

As for the group being tired of idol work...I don't think so or 5/7 members wouldn't have re-signed. They had every chance to quit WM because they don't really need them at this point in their career. So I think most of them are still passionate about being idols, or WM offered them a really good deal.

CMBR was only BG's second release this year so this makes no sense. They were "overexposed" by advertising in CFs which is what idols are supposed to do.

Yep, i noticed this last year. I thought their company would take advantage of their huge success last year but they didnt.

I wonder if the group is just tired of idol work. They're not spring chickens anymore, they're even older than Twice as a group and will hit seven years in a few months i think. They've branched out into hosting and MC work, and ive read that Mimi and Jiho havent re-signed. Jiho apparently had health issues recently.

I felt their company had bad management ever since they followed up Secret Garden with that Oh mY banhana subunit. And then after NONSTOP they gave Yooa a solo out of nowhere when the group's brand wasnt yet stable

You’re literally putting words in my mouth! Stop!

I didnt say it was exclusive to HER. I said it was creepy because shes underage. those are two different things

Within a minute of her profile being posted, someone made an account for a 14 YEAR OLD GIRL. Thats creepy as hell. Im talking about a specific fan account. Not all fans.

I mean, she is still a part of the group. What do you want fans to do? Ignore her and start trending #LEESOO_OUT??? Yes, she's young, but she's already in the group and there is nothing to be done about it now. She'll be 15 in like 3 months anyway, the same age idols like Jungkook from BTS also debuted. Niki from Enhyphen also debuted at 15 as did Weeekly Zoa. Krystal, Taemin, fromis_9 Jiheon, and even Wonyoung herself at 14. But you guys want to hate on and ostracize her Leesoo for what?

Where did I say I wanted to ostracize her???? And those other idols aren't exactly great examples either. But if you don't think shes going to be taken advantage of and more prone to sexualization at a young age, you need to reflect.

Somi's dad revealed that he didnt want her daughter to be MIA for weeks at a time while she was basically slaving away 24-7 for JYP. I think both he and Somi were shook at what JYP made Twice go through in 2017-2018 and they didnt want none of that for Somi.

At TBL, Somi basically gets what she puts in. She's allowed to be herself, to move at her own pace, to do what she wants whether its CFs, variety shows, music. Like you said, she's also encouraged to learn how to write and produce. TBL wont baby you but they will allow you to grow. Hell, TBL itself isnt really a Kpop label, it's mostly just a bunch of songwriters and producers like 24, Vince, R Tee, Danny, etc.

She's still booked though. Even around that time, he said he barely saw her because she was so busy. She'd be slaving away for someone or something either way. It's how she gets paid.

Exactly why i hate all the performative bs virtue signaling fake woke shit people do. As they seek to cancel Jackson and lay etc or unstan. They look at the situation as black and white good or bad nothing else. Life has alot of shades of grey and like you mentioned about your experience. That holds true for anyone living in a regime like China, ome has to consider many things, sure financial security might be part of it. But rarely do these judgemental sjw hypocrites think about everything else that holds higher priority to those living in those regimes. Their education and influence: They have been raised and taught by everyone around them that they are the good guys, that type of propoganda does brainwash people. Then you have to think about the possible threat to their safety from physical and mental abuse and even the threat if death, and by extension those same threats being presented to their loved ones. When presented with all of that its forgivable to see people like Jackson still support China because there's a chance he or his family and friends could suffer the consequences of defying China and when the threat is left vauge where you know not what will happen,it makes it much easier to maintain control.

This is the same reason why north korens despite hating kim have not revolted and started a civil war. So all the hypocrites out there talking shit about these artists on here in your cushy first world life of no problems and never have to worry or work for freedom and take it for granted, come put yourself in their shoes for a moment and tell me you would do in that situation and don't lie

I don't disagree many of these C-idols are in a precarious situation, but they and their companies made the choice to debut them in Korea. Heck, C-idols are literally a liability to their groups nowadays. Its not xenophobic to say that. If they were in Chinese borders that would be one thing, but you have groups like EG that are still trying to make a name for themselves in Korea with Chinese members that say stupid shit. Why doesn't anyone ever talk about the effect it would have on the other group members? Imagine having your group image tarnished because someone couldn't stay out of politics. Yuehua is a big company in China with a lot of experience. They should've seen a scandal coming when they put a Chinese woman with a bunch of Korean women, but they still proceeded with the group anyway. Everyone wants to cry xenophobia, but at least Yuqi didn't start getting political until after Gidle made a name for themselves.
