I was expecting Everglown blow up with the release of 72.80....(I can't remember the name, sorry) What went wrong?

  • Ladida was one of the Best Kpop song released that year ( i remember some articles putting the song in their tops) Untouchable is a fucking bop, and the rest of the song are nice too. So what happen, why Everglow don't experiment a growth in their sales like many Kpop groups did during the pandemic? :wilds:

Changed the title of the thread from “I was expecting Everglown blow up with the release of 72.80....(I can't remember the name, sorry) What when wrong?” to “I was expecting Everglown blow up with the release of 72.80....(I can't remember the name, sorry) What went wrong?”.
  • It wasn't remotely similar to Adios\Dun Dun so casual fans ran away.

Also EG primarily rely on casual fans hence their very low sales. They need to stand out and find a niche because so far they're nothing more than another GG hopping on the girl crush trend. With all these newer groups debuting, they need to find something that works quickly or else they'll get left behind.

  • Ladida was ok, but overrated. I'm the leading expert on retro music since i'm literally the only one that actually lived through the 80s on here X( and i can tell you that Ladida was a misfire. There's a certain sound that retro needs to have to be considered great and this song didnt have it, it's too amped up and loud. Much like another song that came out a month later, whICh Shall not be naMed here :whistling: . The best part of Ladida was Yiren's "Everglow forever let's go".

This is what GREAT retro sounds like:

And dont forget this SOTY contender that's mostly retro with a little bit of trap.

Because everglow wasn't consistent and released first right after this, which is outdated EDM. They went back to an out of the boc concept with Pirate which was a step in the right direction but it could never be a hit, because again the EDM is overdone. They should try something new and I know Yuehua has the resources to do it given Yena's solo

  • I think it would have been better for them if they released Pirate right after dun dun to keep the hype. Of course kpop stans would have done the usual and called it noisy trash but it would have done quite well overall. I know a lot of people who got interested in them again after pirate but it's a little late.

Ladida is one of their best songs imo but it lost them a lot of casuals.
