simplest ansser is a fal put between cloud and the rest of the band.
And while Cloud did produce a lot for Yerin, it wasn't everything and she's always been a songwriter.

Hasn't there been a rule put in place in China recently that restricts individuals from purchasing an album more than once? I thought I saw that somewhere.
That's a couple years old now, but yeah that's in place. But most of the albums up there are after that change.
Anything after July 2021 that applies.

I lived through both.
Twice was huge. NewJeans feels even bigger, and I'm just talking their popularity in Korea.
The ridiculous chart records, the daesangs, the Gallup survey results--most of this we haven't seen since SNSD or ever.
It's just too much to ignore. I've never seen a group so obsessed over so quickly. Ever.
Twice took some time. Their first comeback. SNSD had to wait for Wonder Girls to go to the states. BlackPink had to wait for Twice to come back to the pack a bit.
NewJeans was instant and they've been massively popular ever since.
???
gee and genie was in 2009. Wonder Girls didn't do the US excursion until a year later. SNSD had already made a massive name for themselves before Wonder Girls went off.
Also Blackpink debuted with a PAK in Whistle.
A lot of this stuff isn't just Someone is ahead and nobody else can touch them. It aint so cut and dry with these eras

Seems more traditionally rnb like their debut rather than leaning into the dnb and garage sound of the second ep

We're really having this discourse over a group who just became elligible for music show wins this week?
Like I don't know what y'all expect, most people aren't gonna ve particularly heavy in the person discussion for a group.
Only reason Ive and LSF had it out the gate was cause they came from Produce and had big names to zero in on.

this is a cover I've been obsessed with for months now

You can't scam Spotify. That's why certain groups are flopping there.
It is because for the 2nd top playlist you have to get in the top 50, then for the top playlist you have to have very high ULs and your song is stable for a couple of weeks. Then and only then do things start snowballing in terms of playlists reach.
Thats why everyone except BP and NJ is capped at around max 35M playlist reach. Illit will maybe join them soon or in the next comeback.
With Spotify, if you sux, you flop, because can't buy beyond a 40M playlist reach. It is not like Korea where "in theory" 200k ULs is only 1.6M a month, which will get you into the top 5, or "in theory" you can bulk buy albums at cost and resell later.
This is some hilarious lack of awareness of the industry.
Especially when there was a massive scandal 4 years ago over French Montana and spotify stream hacks

The only thing I know Min Heejin to be is a producer in music is as an executive producer.
Now Executivr Producers can be musicians and music producers, but the primary role of an Executive Producer is to fund the project, choose the people working on the project, and schedule the project's timeline.
At most, she's maybe like Rick Rubin, who as a music Producer just does Music Tasting aka "This sounds hot" or "Maybe more drums?"

I think people don't understand that Sajaegi is a crime not due to bulk buying
But because Sajaegi is a form of Round Tripping. It's about the fraud that a company commits.

It's not about feelings or bias, because as you can see, I shared stats about my own faves, too, not just groups I don't like or follow. Also, some articles. Use Google, it's free.

of these, only the 3rd would count as sajaegi by its definition. And that's only if one can prove that the entertainment company is giving the record company the money to pay for those records.
If a record company agrees to put that money up front, that's just a business transaction.
