NMIXX already reached their half life cycle with nothing much to show for it. Don't see them improving significantly from here. They (Lily/Haewon) might have better success going solo at this point.

Have you been living under a rock? That has been the case throughout the entire history of the music industry. Years ago it was getting connections and paying to have your song played constantly on the radio. It has moved to promoting on streaming platforms and spamming influencers on tik tok.

If heaps of people have listened to the songs. Does that not mean the songs are popular, regardless of methods used.

Spotify is more popular than ever and more people are using those features precisely because they like the songs being played.

If the people don't like the songs being played. Then they will stop using the playlist/autoplay feature/ platform.

Since its now been proven that Newjeans received absolutely no payrola from HYBE and in fact got sabotaged every step of the way. The results they have received just got 10x more impressive.

They were so impressive that they were projected to reach BTS/Blackpink levels of popularity within 5 years of debut. You forgot one thing. Aespa also recently released a song. New Jean fans has been limiting their streaming to let Aespa stay ahead and not fulfill BSH's wish of stomping on Aespa.

It is a difficult task, NJs still got slightly ahead of Aespa on spotify but Melon is staying at number 2. Otherwise NJs will have been number 1 already.

I for one have been pirating their songs to limit their numbers. I know many other tokkis have as well.

No they are not. Their most recent release was in July 2022, only been about 2 years. Their songs are still popular in the media and headlined coachella last year.

Western singers have gone for longer without a release and can still be considered active. Blackpink has always followed more of a western release cycle.

I'd say give it until 2026 before we classify them as legacy.

Back to the movies example, James Cameron directs Titanic, if another director comes along and makes another Titanic with the same actors, perhaps Steven Spielberg. It could be even better than the original but it'll be completely different to James Cameron's version.

Not to diminish the actors, Leonardo DiCaprio can still go and act in other movies and be just as successful.

Similar for NJs, if the creative director/producer changes, NJs as we know it today will be gone. That doesn't mean Hanni, Haerin Hyein, Danni and Minji can't be successful with another director.

Its just the overall concept/theme music of Newjeans that tokkis fell in love with will change/dissappear and thats the sad part. Tokkis right now just want to protect what they love and enjoy about NJs and is it wrong to want to protect that?

Who knows after the change in concept Newjeans may get new fans that falls in love with their new music direction and some of the existing tokkis might like the new concept even more than MJH's version.

The thing with lesserafim is that they never really had any mega hits in the first place. As long as they chart in the top 10 on melon, its be a good result already. Anything else is just gravy. So the pressure isn't there to perform super well.

For example, the charting for Easy was actually pretty decent for them, but if NJs, Ive or Aespa charted similar on their title songs, it'll be considered a flop.

In the first few weeks, it'll be their biggest hit yet. Everyone will be lining up to buy the last single/album produced by MJH and all attention is on Newjeans right now. (All their current songs is going up in the charts).

After the first few weeks it'll be dependent in the quality of the song. If its even half as good as Ditto/Hype boy, they will rekt the charts.

It can go both ways. As you said, the members and the parents do not like HYBE. So HYBE may see that it may not be worth investing/promote them, only for them to leave and fk off as soon as their contract expires.

Everything is built on trust, brands don't risk some dodgy group ruining their image just to accept a few dollars payrola. They pay millions so they can help rep and promote their brand and without trust no contract will be signed.

HYBE couldn't even get those deals for LSRM, their main flagship girl group. Promoted as the first HYBE group.

Back on topic. Ador is one of the more profitable subsidiary within hybe.

BSJ didn't even like most of those trainees that MHJ debuted, they will have been kept in a dungeon and eventually leave for better opportunities elsewhere.

HYBE wasn't important except for providing the initial funding, which as noted before several other companies could have provided the funding. HYBE just gave MHJ the best offer but back out of most of the incentives anyway (for eg offer to be the first hybe girl group, offering bonus stock which didn't work out).

After the girls debuted, they are successful enough to sustain themselves without any additional HYBE funding anyway, even with HYBE sabotaging.
