I chose 'hell yes"; however, in reality, of course there are additional songs that I would have chosen, but that is the issue given their large and diverse discography and each person's tastes in music being subjective. Clearly, each of the guys had their reasons for choosing the songs they did.

Currently, I'm not upset at all. We're technically getting 5 new songs instead of 3, so all is well (the CD-only songs will obviously find their way to the internet).

I hope the quality of the new songs is on point. *crosses fingers*

If it was me, I would have also tried to squeeze in Life Goes On, Black Swan, and Lie (although I am happy with Filter...too many good songs to choose from).

I have not heard or searched for any song leaks. I am patiently waiting for June 10th, at which time, I intend to enjoy the songs in their full glory...and so the hype continues!

This comeback has been fun, a little something everyday to distract me from my obligations. :P

It's fun to see that for CD 2 each of them chose a solo song and a subunit song, and that they listed them in fanchant order.

Also, for those asking why would Jung-kook choose Dimple? Well, simple...because it's a BOP (among his other reasons). He clearly has exceptional taste. :)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's tracklist release for CD 3. :)

All of these spoilers sound amazing, I really hope they're true!

Another reason I am excited is because I got my little niece and nephew into BTS in 2020; their music is one thing we enjoy together when we hang out. Mic Drop is my nephew's favourite song, he always wants to listen to it, and so, hopefully, all of these spoilers are true and the both of them will love this new song just as much! :)

J Hope ready to bust a damn beat over your head with Mic Drop 2.0

If true, then I am so ready for it!

Justice for Ho-seok and for Dis-ease!

Reading this thread, all of these tweets...seeing all of the small details and spoilers (back then and recently/now)...it is amazing to see it all come together! I'm now utterly convinced this was planned for 2020 for their 7th anniversary, but everything got delayed due to the pandemic.

Overall: genius concept, genius marketing, and I continue to be super hyped for this comeback!!! I can't wait for all of the new music and additional content!

hybe only cares about the money and they make it apparent every other day with the release of unnecessary merch and products. at this point they literally treat armys as consumers and not as fans. i mean i would’ve been pretty mad too. three songs only? what are they even doing?? but they don’t care because despite the backlash, armys will still end up buying millions of albums and hybe will pocket most of that money. it’s the sad and pathetic truth.

Do I think Hybe release a lot of merchandise, some of it being unnecessary (some being whatever each person considers unnecessary)? 1000%. This is why I say, I think people need to use their own consumer discretion when deciding whether or not to purchase a product, because that in turn will support a company. This is true of Hybe or any other company.

This also brings my thought process to the following:

Yes, you are a fan, but I'm surprised by your comment (and when others say this too), because it seems to come off as if people don't realize that regardless of you being a BTS fan, you are a consumer, as well? You're not in a personal relationship with BTS/Hybe, and so yes, you are a fan, but you are a in fact a consumer, too.

If you don't support something, don't purchase it (or consume the free content either). Last year, I wrote about why I didn't like PTD (I was disappointed in its quality as a song and I didn't like the MV); in turn, I didn't purchase the song (digital or physical formats) and I have been staying away from all merchandise for a long time.

I'm sorry that you're disappointed with only getting 3 new songs, but I still hope you enjoy the songs and other new content that the fanbase will be getting. :)

For this comment I'm going to include bits and pieces from another one of my posts from this thread: “PROOF” NEW BTS ALBUMMM WITH 3 NEW SONGS LETS GOOOO

Many have stated they are not happy with only 3 new songs or the timing of this album.

Initially (first 5-10 minutes), I was a little disappointed purely because I only saw '3 new songs'...HOWEVER, now that I've read through multiple threads/sources of information, I have to day: I AM HYPED and ready to go!

This thread: I think it's because of this enlistment issue...

made a good argument that the compilation album could be due to enlistment.

Then we also have this link:

If we consider only these 2 things, it brings me to this thought process: Although, even as a non-Korean (meaning I truly have no say in the matter), I personally do hope they get a military exemption (because if not the 7 guys who contribute/bring in billions for South Korea's economy yearly, plus they're currently in their absolute prime right now in terms of global popularity, then who else?), but ultimately, it is up to the SK government, its citizens, and BTS themselves to decide what the best option/decision is for them and I respect that; and so, taking this into consideration, and currently assuming that enlistment is still on the table/happening, if you read the above thread I linked, the points made there do make sense that BTS/BigHit have typically done albums in series/eras/themes, and thus, it would not make sense to start a whole new series/era before enlistment.

In turn, the above tweet makes a very strong argument. They gained millions of new fans during the pandemic and an anthology album (old songs, new remixes?, demos, the 3 newly mentioned songs - if you go off of all the info swirling around on the internet) are a great way to expose the new fans/new casual listeners to their older discography without those new fans having to do the work themselves. In my books, this is a positive and a smart marketing.

If we then also consider this theory:

    🌸TAN⁷🌸 on Twitter
“To those complaining. @alejk__ found something very interesting. BTS probably has been teasing this since 2019. The anthology may have been planned for 2020,…
    twitter.com

Then... another way to look at the timing of this album is to take this theory into consideration! This tweet/theory makes sense to me and could be plausible! In addition, when you read the comments on that Twitter thread, someone stated (https://twitter.com/alejk__/status/1521905345827852292) that 2 Cool 4 Skool was released June 12th, and in 2020, June 12th was on a Friday.

Therefore, maybe/possibly the original plan was to release this album on their 7th anniversary (or possibly even later on in 2020), but given the onset of the pandemic in early 2020 and all of the uncertainty at the time, maybe they decided to hold off from releasing it at the time (especially since people were extremely worried about finances and health at that time)? Plus, the new SK law that allowed Jin to defer his enlistment for 2 years did not come into effect until the end of 2020, so maybe this anthology album was maybe/possibly supposed to drop at some point in 2020 with Jin (or possibly some or all BTS members) enlisting shortly thereafter?

Now we find ourselves in a similar situation as in 2020, where the assumption is that Jin/some of BTS/possibly all of BTS will be enlisting shortly, and so, they could have now possibly decided to go back and continue with their original plan from 2020?

If so, two possibilities come to mind:

    A. This album is the last album to drop from the group before enlistment, and just by chance, this will now also be a good way for all the new fans they gained over the past 2 years to explore their previous discography.

    B. If we assume BTS does end up getting military exemption, they could now still be going back to their original plan, tying up loose ends, while again, by chance, providing a good way/easy way for all of the new fans they gained over the past 2 years to explore their previous discography. Then, if military exemption is granted, sometime in the future we will get new songs/a new album, which will be a whole new era/series of albums.

Ultimately, this is all speculation. Ultimately, we have to wait and see if they share more information.

In addition, I'd also like to comment my opinion on there only being 3 songs.

Personally, I don't mind only getting 3 songs, as long as they are high-calibre/high-quality songs (for example, I strongly disliked PTD based on my thoughts regarding the quality/calibre of the song, which I found PTD was lacking). For me it hasn't been about the quantity of songs, but it's the quality I care about, knowing what BTS is capable of. From what I've read and random things the guys have said during concerts, there are rumours that there will be at least one new BTS hip-hop song. I am really looking forward to that! I hope for some new Korean songs, but if one of the three is in English (or another language for that matter), I'll also be pleased as long as the quality is there. That has always been my core POV. Luckily, we also have the option to only purchase the new songs in digital format without having to worry or spend money on re-purchasing old songs.

BTS/BigHit/Hybe provide us with a lot of free content, so I'm not surprised that they took a break and slowed some things down (in terms of the quantity of releases, Run BTS, Bangtan Bombs, etc). Having a camera stuck in your face 24/7 on top of everything else they do (everything music-related), things become tiresome and you get burn out (which Jin mentioned experiencing end of 2020).

I personally don't know what people expect when they complain about capitalism and Hybe's business practices? Hybe is a business, so yes, they do need to make money. They need to fund everything they do including their Label division (i.e. BigHit) and all of the free extra content the fanbase gets, paying employees/artists, and having some profits in the bank. I also think Hybe is quite creative and forward-thinking in many ways, and I personally choose to give them credit for that (like common on, Bang PD/BTS made smart moves and the company went from almost-bankruptcy to becoming a huge corporation in the span of a few years). By no means am I am Hybe stan, not at all. For example, I think some (not all) of the merchandise they put out is ridiculous/not worth it/poor quality/over-priced, their shipping costs to my country are insanely high and that doesn't even include the customs/duties I also have to pay (and thus, this stops me from purchasing things I want 98% of the time because the total amount: product + shipping + duties/customs fees, is ridiculous), and I'm not into the whole webtoon thing. By all means if you're not happy with pricing then let the company know (BigHit, please work on lowering your shipping costs), however, ultimately, I as a consumer, use my own discretion (or parents if their kids are young) to determine whether or not I want to purchase a product/keep purchasing and in turn financially supporting a company.

Capitalism is not perfect, but the world runs on a capitalistic system/structure, and let me tell you, there are worse economic systems out there.

Overall, due to all of these reasons, this is why, given all the information we currently have at the moment, I am currently looking forward to the anthology album and I hope the rumours are true (old songs, demos, unreleased songs, some quality new songs, and possibly something extra that they're keeping hush-hush (this last one is my own wishful thinking)).

Okay, back on this forum after several months.

Initially (first 5-10 minutes), I was a little disappointed purely because I only saw '3 new songs'...HOWEVER, now that I've read through this entire thread, plus another one (I think it's because of this enlistment issue...), I have to say: I AM HYPED and ready to go!

Here's why (random thoughts/opinions are in no particular order because I linked several quotes thinking I could move them around, but I can't, such is life!):

    1. Regarding the timing of this album:

Many people in this thread stated their opinion that they are not happy regarding the timing of this album.

As people posted/pointed out in this thread:

    and here:

well this gives a new perspective

....it brings me to this thought process: This! Although, even as a non-Korean (meaning I truly have no say in the matter), I personally do hope they get a military exemption (because if not the 7 guys who contribute/bring in billions for South Korea's economy yearly, plus they're currently in their absolute prime right now in terms of global popularity, then who else?), but ultimately, it is up to the SK government, its citizens, and BTS themselves to decide what the best option/decision is for them and I respect that; and so, taking this into consideration, and currently assuming that enlistment is still on the table/happening, if you read the above thread I linked, the points made there do make sense that BTS/BigHit have typically done albums in series/eras/themes, and thus, it would not make sense to start a whole new series/era before enlistment.

(Refer to Part 6 below, for a continuation/extension of my thoughts from a different perspective).

    2. My personal wants from this anthology album:

YESSSSSSS. Give me AT LEAST one classic BTS hip-hop song! I'll be manifesting with you!

I want RM, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, and Jungkook rapping! I especially want the surprise of hearing Jimin and Jungkook rapping a verse or two, again!

Overall, I've been wanting this ever since I was gutted that Dis-ease was never released as a single!

Also, I'm currently assuming that one song with feature Snoop Dogg since there was a recent video from an event where Snoop Dogg confirmed that he submitted his vocals to the company....so I''m assuming it is coming?! We'll see if I'm clowning myself here! XD.

    Other wants on the wish-list:

May I selfishly request a music video for each new song? So, three new MVs? Is that too much? I'll be happy with one, but three (of any type including animation or compilation footage) would be lovely, as well. A girl can dream! :)

Pleeeease, BigHit, I beg you, please include the orchestral version of Black Swan. Pretty, please?

I'm ready for all of the unreleased demos, old classics (possibly some newly re-recorded?? I'm guessing here), and remixes...and possibly maybe an additional surprise of some unreleased songs (non-demos) or maybe even an extra surprise we don't know of/about yet? I'm ready for anything and everything!

    :pleading:

I have to say, I am LOVING the creative design/artwork/thought/theme/concept/strategy/marketing that we are getting with this comeback so far! I'm loving everything from the artwork and design of this anthology album, to the promo videos, to how the stories/themes/theories all tie-in together to their previous works. It's so smart. I've really been enjoying and loving this marketing, and I would really love to be able to sit-in on some of those meetings and observe how they come-up and put everything together.

BigHit if you let me come or if you want to hire a new employee, I promise to bring dessert and/or maybe some ideas to contribute! Hahaha, I'm kidding (kind of, but not really)...but seriously... :)

    Sea?

    Path?

Yes. This tweet! I think this anthology will be great. I currently have faith (and hope) that it will be good! Manifesting!

Y'all, this would be amazing if it got a nomination! All I have to say is (as I have previously stated) Black Swan deserved a Grammy! Grammys make it happen!

    Oh...

First I want to say, that I consider Part 6 an extension of section 1, where I consider the timing of this album from a different perspective, having taken this theory into consideration.

Another way to look at the timing of this album is to take this theory into consideration! This tweet/theory makes sense to me and could be plausible! All in all, I'm ready for this new album to drop! I'm ready for all of the new songs/content! BigHit, please make my wishes happen!

This is fantastic news! I am very much looking forward to the new mini album! Typically, I usually only buy BTS albums; whereas for other artists, I usually only choose to buy certain singles (I try to be selective). However, I bought Kai's 1st mini album on iTunes on a whim last year after watching the MV and dance practice for 'Mmmh' (Kai is an incredibly talented and amazing dancer, as always), since I liked the vibe of the song. To my surprise, I consider the 1st mini album to be my best music purchase of 2020, above anything else I purchased in 2020. It's a fantastic, well put-together, cohesive mini album with a great vibe/feeling/atmosphere to it/flow throughout it. It ended up being a no-skip album for me. Still to this day, a whole year later, I still find myself listening to the whole album at least twice per week (actually, more). It was such an unexpected yet wonderful find for me. Needless to say, again, I am super looking forward to the next mini album given my positive experience with the first one. I can't wait for November 30th! :)

I loved this collab! I personally believe that this Coldplay x BTS collab, is the best Kpop collaboration that has been done to date.

'My Universe' is a classic Coldplay-style song through and through (long-time Coldplay fan here), and it mixes in Korean/BTS so smoothly/easily. It does not feel forced or gimmicky at all. In addition, the music video is great and of a high-quality with respect to cinematography/artistry/production/storytelling.

I'm enjoying this because - personally - I was disappointed when Permission To Dance came out and I was looking forward to seeing what they were going to do next - and I am pleased with this outcome. :)
I look forward to BTS performing this live and seeing what kind of dance break choreography they come up with for this song! :)
