The albums and PFPs in ur avatar is literally telling of this kinda mid taste in music tbh. Not one song in your faves are actually innovative nor unprecedented, all pop melody formula and boring ass chord progressions. Im sorry but just what makes it messy? They literally follow pop formula, verse, pre-chorus- chorus, sometimes post chorus, and repeat, bridge, outro.
And if you think it’s because of instrumentals, i beg listen to outside k-pop. Genuinely, that’s the only thing I can say. LMAO. Bubblegum bass and Hyperpop are primary inspiration of aespa’s instrumentals.

Besides the overbloated physicals of 3rd gen BGs, they’re not exactly competing with 4th gen GGs, aren’t they? These BGs are the one that’s over lmfao. BP and maybe RV can comeback and make hits off of it. I dont see Stray Kids, Seventeen, etc charting digital at all except BTS when they do come back.

If How Sweet continues to flop for the next week and fail to go viral on Tiktok, i dont think there’s saving this come back. Murakami collab with Supernatural might actually revive it but that’s in June, i think they can save it there since that’s when the actual Mini drops in. Remember part of NJ popularity is because of their album aesthetics that also goes viral on tiktok.

KTL never even hit #1 on the charts. For the BP standard back then, that was a flop. Also it's false that NewJeans is declining on every metric.
They're doing great on the Korean charts, as mentioned, but they're also #1 on Spotify Korea, had been locking down YouTube Weekly Charts since Bubblegum dropped (they're the reason Spot didn't PAK) and they're doing great on Apple Music. They're also the #1 single on Oricon.
It's really just Spotify U.S. lagging behind. For now.

An lot of those artists on global 200 and tth are just as fraudulent as newjeans, they and/or their labels pay for payola both on spotify and radio, so is not really a good defense. Top kpop groups all had either solid views or excel on that category, newjeans is the contrary, they underperform so hard that you could barely believe this is the supposed strongest girl group seen in the last 2 years. So few likes and comments too, is not only about youtube making harder gaining streams without paying for ads, those newjeans streams are not normal for a group with that supposed popularity.
Yeah their youtube music streams are actually excellent but those are a totally separated topic, is simply not normal the music videos of a top group being so barely watched.

One day we need to have a serious conversation about newjeans youtube views, I can't believe we let newjeans fans get away with their phony youtube takes when newjeans have youtube views not in the level of any top group ever had, not even half as good as twice in their time, not even red velvet level. 35k comments on a whole comeback MV, nobody is really tuning in for them, is crazy.
LMFAO u do know artists charting on Global 200 and TTH have had lesser views in YT than NJ has right? Especially ones that became popular on Tiktok (which is definitely NJs).
Chappell Roan literally has less views in YT than them but still has more Spotify Listeners than these k-pop groups. That’s because of Tiktok.

Yall setting up twice now. One thing that ADOR does that is fresh is making songs for their group that fits the group’s vocal prowess well. That’s something JYP should take note about when making songs that is twice/thrice the key of what the members should be singing.
Atleast NJ doesn’t go off key at all out of all unlike all the HYBE girl groups.

Rest they could be on discovery or autoplay but just on the basis of pl reach they have not been given the same push as Illit and NJNS. So they may be benefitting from the covert tactics but overtly have not gotten much to show for. Anyway, this discussion is going in circles, so let's drop it.
Tell me a kpop group being added for a supposedly “bubbling under” playlist (pop rising have been consistently been that playlist). That’s what I mean by insane lmao. Sure they’re not getting NJ/ILLIT but that’s just because they know the song is not getting traction to that level lol. What i’m saying is it’s a mix of both payola and result. If the song does good in their own parameters after the initial payola, then they add more payola and they prolly sustain it for month or two and then let the algorithm work moving forward. This is what happene din NJ and now Magnetic.

The only playlists on spotify which have charting songs is the top 50 global and the individual country wise top 50 charts. No other Spotify curated playlists have any set guidelines about which song is added to them which leaves room open for any song to be added as long as Spotify is paid for it and pay every one does for the big playlists and even more for the best positions on the biggest pl.

In Pop Rising playlist it’s usually songs that have charted and are still charting and also pop acts that have household anmes and included in Top Spotify Artists with “new release” on its tag. That’s why it’s so obvious Easy had insane Payola because how could it be there when it was neither release from a big spotify artist nor did it ever chart.
I agree, spotify curates it, but each playlists ysually have prerequisites. It’s only ever broken if the payola is high.

The beauty of discovery is you can never know who is on it, so even if you think it is regular run of the mill autoplay it could be the more insidious discovery mode. I do agree with Antifragile having crazy absurd stability and it making me sus too but them some people were claiming it went "viral" in LatAm like they do for every other Kpop gg song having stability on spotify.
Tbh any act not having a huge fandom to push streams, doing stable numbers on spotify for a very long period, is sus af and that is what Spotify has become all about these days, a mess if you look at the charts currently.
Going viral in LatAm is the most pathetic excuse ive seen. They were not charting that high in LatAm to be getting daily 1.5m streams… it took aespa to be big in SEA to get a consistent 1.0m streams for Drama and that was because of a tiktok audio / dance trend.
