The reason is there. She’s a woman and she’s popular in China. Popularity comes hatred. It is what it is.

I mean i kinda get that bc Japan is the second biggest music industry but for Korea, do u rly think it weighs in a lot? I doubt it. IU charts quite okay bc she’s also big on ASIA (South East) particularly. I really wouldnt discount aespa’s popularity on asia, too.
Otherwise, why Lee Mujin isn’t charting when Korea does put in a lot of weight?
Also let’s look at the stats of these groups with their latest comebacks (enha itzy aespa which are all near each other) and how they’re doing right now.

Sooo. How exactly do BG stans of 4th gen keep saying that GG songs are less internationally popular? Next Level, Loco, and Savage still doing numbers, even if u discount Global 200.
-
Aespa isn’t the best performing 4th gg gen group this year Itzy gained 600M views this year while aespa 300M
Next level has more daily views than mafia and has a better longevity fair enough
Savage had more views than Loco because it had more ads than loco despite loco being released earlier loco is pulling 600k daily views and the gap is decreasing while the gap was really big one month ago
Wannabe is out-viewing both mafia and next level

Wannabe is not outdoing at all except BM. And Loco is a higher daily view count than savage, tho gap is small.

there is a big difference between a member of BP and other kpop acts.... since she has big YT streams and spotify streams outside of Korea. Meaning she has areas outside of korea that help her massively with global streams (ie for Lalisa) such as SEA countries, while most other kpop acts don't get such massive streams from said countries that can help them massively on the Global 200.
Also If a song does well in one country does it mean its global? Cause the Global 200 won't specify what country a majority of its streams come from. Its like if i look at the global 200 and find a Japanese song that charted longer than many kpop acts? Would those songs be international hits when a majority of their streams are from Japan? For example... Yuri's Dry Flower (which is a MASSIVE HIT in Japan) has been on the Global 200 for 55 weeks. Does that make it bigger internationally than lets say Ice Cream by BP which charted in multiple countries worldwide but only charted on the Global 200 for 14 weeks? No right.
See how the global 200 also isn't a good way to say if a song is a bigger international hit than anotherare you sure Dry Flower charted on Global 200 or Global 200 excluding US? I haven’t found an article about it, but I do know the song.

Shoot did pretty well it will reach 30M streams. Swipe will reach 20M streams soon.
Itzy has a song with 200M streams only BP TWICE AND RV achieved this feat (not counting GIDLE)
Im sure if BB200 would have existed a long time ago Wannabe would have been the longest charting 4th gen song at that time
Back in 2020 wannabe was the longest charting song on Spotify even surpassing on by BTS which was impressive.
Consistence is the key for example fever has surpassed mafia but the gap is small and loco has a better longevity than mafia on Spotify.
If SKZ and TXT are more consistent and usually breaking their own records.
Enhypen isn’t that much their last song didn’t do that well on Spotify even savage has more streams than tamed-dashed but some people still think aespa are weak on Spotify.
However I definitely agree with the bb200 one since US acts will benefit more because they usually generate more streams so they will have a better longevity even if their peaks are lower.
And Korea charts plays a huge part of BB200 calculations Loco is outstreaming (and probably outviewing ) Savage but it’s out on the charts while savage is still charting
Korean charts does not play a huge part at all. A good example would be Lalisa doing 10weeks in there and Money, 12 weeks.
None of those are international hits, neither for GG's or bgs
Agree, but ive seen many comments about BGs being more popular internationally because of their physicals. yet it’s obvious that those physicals are bloated af bc the title tracks aren’t even charting well on BB. Many of them only does well on Spotify, but it’s obvious when you view paid services like Apple Music, YouTube Music records.

Where did I discredit their international achievements. I stated that they aren't big internationally and I still stick by that point. And everything you cited was the best of 4th gen when I stated that I don't think 4th gen in general is doing crap internationally. Also, I'm pretty sure spotify for GG is between itzy and gidle with most streamed GG song on spotify. And I literally talked about Twice being bigger then any 4th gen group internationally even though they are considered weak in the international market.
idk why you replied but that wasnt for you?
Also regarding the BB200, that's exactly what I pointed out. They charted well on ALL PHYSICAL CHARTS, but NOTHING FOR THEIR DIGITAL SINGLES. This obviously only means one thing. Their fandom is rich af and are mass buying. Otherwise, if those million albums are truly organic like BTS or Blackpink, then they'd have similar or lesser extent results to digitals. Perhaps something comparable to Twice, Itzy, and Aespa.Yet all their digital charts internationally and domestically aren't even doing that well. Jsut look at BB Global 200. Their title tracks aren't even charting. HOw exactly are they more internationally popular? because of their physicals that anyone can just buy numerous of times? Instead of aggregation of multiple stream platforms from multiple countries?
How come their singles aren't even charting on any major BB Digital single charts? You can't just look at one aspect of it. Aespa also charted on BB200 and did so two times in one EP. And their digital charts for BB have WIDE GAP over Enhypen. BTW, we're talking about a group that has 100m spotify streams on Fever. WHich is laughable, you can see how dedicated spotify streamers they are that those 100m can't even be enough for them to gather a spot on BB.

so many people are telling you all are wrong while acknowledging that aespa is indeed leading in korea yet you all take it as an attack and begin to shade other groups. then you wonder why nobody likes y'all.
i stayed respectful and acknowledged aespa's good results then some of you began to shade my faves. that won't make aespa leaders neither will make anyone take you all seriously. that's my last comment on here because discussion with people who refuse to see the truth due to being too biased is pointless
Stop this act right now? As if on the last pages you didn't discredit their international achievements.
We really don't care if no one likes us just because we spit facts LOL. I have cited billboard cahrts, spotify, youtube, and many other metrics while you did nothing at all. Not even a good comparative data from YOU. So, what are we supposed to do?
-
LMAOOOO you're so bitter it's so hilarious, that's just kpop please, shading enhypen on some forum won't erase their achievements, charts and records 😂
not at how part of the reason you call aespa leaders is YouTube 😭
Anyways, I won't bother proving you all wrong anymore, let's talk again in a few years and see how far will enhypen be with their international successful and strong fandom and where will aespa be with their reliance on knetz only.
and for one last time, aespa are not gen leaders
Idk why are you attacking? Please provide facts on Enhypen. Let's see those digital charts!! The fact that we're bringing billboard to an emphasis and yet you saw "Youtube"? WOW, this is incredibly shortsighted.

If you want aespa to be the leader of 4th Gen in SK then fine. They probably are but not globally YET. Everyone is trying to explain it that no one yet is a clear leader . No one is saying one is better than the other. It’s too dragging. You will believe what you want to believe. Facts: SK is just number 6 in music market globally. US & Japan being on top. The world is bigger than SK . You need a bigger loyal fandom internationally to be called a global hit and to ensure longevity. Reason why GG usually disband earlier than most BG with bigger fandoms. BG has bigger and more loyal fandom - that’s where money is.
Okay so NiziU charting #192 on Global 200 with the 2nd biggest music market on the world in their backs. Aespa charting upper 50s on global 200. And it's not impressive internationally? When that chart aggregates all music charts all around the world? GEEEEEEE.
What exactly is an international hit? according to reddit, it's Fever and God's Menu (aside God's Menu bc their song was before Global 200), but Fever doesn't even chart there. But they're a "tiktok" song, right? So this is what international hit is? A tiktok trend?

Alright I have my English Final tomorrow so I'm just going to rely to everyone at once and leave. I don't think ANY group are leading 4th gen right now. Right now Aespa has the first viral hit among any 4th gen groups so their stats reflect that. Once another group (male or female) has a viral hit their stats will reflect that. No group right now has any super impressive records that would deem them the 4th gen leaders. A group needs to be stable both internationally and domestically. A lot of people mentioned the Global 200. NiziU also did amazing on the Global 200 but most of their success came from Japan. It's possible that Aespa's entry was a result of it's popularity in SK. I think the US billboard chart is a good indication of a groups impact on the Western market. In terms of GG both Itzy and Twice did better for the billboard 200 and no group apart from BTS and BP made it to the Billboard 100. I never stated that BG are doing well internationally or some BS. I stated that right now there is no group that is leading crap in 4th gen. I don't think Aespa is, I don't think TXT is, I don't think Itzy is, etc. You can look at any of my previous posts and you can see I stated that it is too early to say leading 4th gen.
Global 200 weighs in US. There's another chart called Global 200 Excluding US which is where they dont come in. AFAIR, NiziU was on the latter, not the GLobal 200.
correction: NiziU was #192 on Global200. But see the ranking? Quite low for the 2nd biggest music market, right? And yet people are ready to jump on aespa charting on upper 50s saying it's not reflective of international popularity?
SoKor isn't even that big in music industry. Why is it hard to admit that Aespa's singles are internationally recognized as well? -
Many BG stans need a slap in the face talking about international hits when the hits in question aren't even in Global 200. What exactly is international? Tiktok and Twitter charts? Jesus.
