Pretty much 90% of korean drama actresses play almost the same role for years. You won't see them gain 30 kg/Viola Davis crying and are basically glorified walking advertisements. So Wonyoung can play a typical role of a pretty female lead who falls in love with the male lead and she's set.

Their fans hyped them up so much, so I got jumped by inetz and them when I questioned their sales.

I have no love for bp or any group, but you can't deny their popularity. They are doing amazing as the group and individually. Their songs have ww demand - charting on bubbling under in 2017 when kpop was a baby, spotify, global charts and youtube numbers, their cfs, solos selling more than 500k. Overall they have stats to back their 1m up, so it's not surprising when the group sold 1m.

Meanwhile Aespa did no noise outside Korea(and okay in China cause I doubt their popularity is the same as in SK). Low yt views, spotify and global charts numbers for a 1m seller group, no demand from their main target audience which is the u.s.a despite kpop being global and their american label push. Non big 3 rookie is doing better than them internationally and no, produce won't give them int fans the way big 3 companies will.

People will say it's unfair to compare a rookie to 5 year old group, but aren't aespa already selling 1.6m? I expect them to do arena and dome tours since 400k fans wanted to attend their Japanese fanmeeting.

Good day is a cute song too, but other than that she's overrated. She's an unremarkable actress like all those idol actors are. 70% of all tv actors can't act and have 3 limited expressions. Give them real complicated roles and they will fold like a paper.

Sunoo was happy to loose 0.02 k and it's totally okay while he looks just like these guys. Yeah, just bc it's okay, doesn't mean it should be ignored. Liz ive is perfectly healthy but due to hate comments, was seen not eating while everyone else did on baseball game thanks to that culture. They should definitely keep doing that and we should keep ignoring that. Yeah, as if that country doesn't have fat people withh weight issues or idols confessing about their eating disorders like Momo almost didn't die. Is this the fatshaming that everyone's talking about? Cause if this is the only thing, then this could just be a case of Westerners once again applying their own standards and values when they shouldnt be. Everyone in Korea gets teased about their weight, it's ingrained in the culture. I had literal strangers (sales people) come up to me and tell me i needed to lose weight while shopping with my parents. At the Korean and Korean American church i went to, folks never held back when talking about someone else's weight or physical appearance.

It was not the only time. I linked a couple of examples how they can't stop mentioning his weight comparing him to "too fat" character, when he's not even chubby. He looks the same as others to me. Not mention how in january/february someone posted how they mentioned his weight again.

Him laughing or koreans thinking it's okay doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. Many idols confessed about their eating disorder after "happily" stating their diet of 1 cup of water and lemon juice as if it's okay. With kpop being global, fans of different weights watching them (and if you read tweets from many people commenting "How would they feel if they saw me"), they need to watch their mouths.

Also, love how you(a fan) ignored how happy sunoo was about losing 0.02kg when he confessed to heeseung about his eating habits. But good to know that their comeback is your priority!
