Here's what ADOR stated 'They added that many of the issues that members claim as contract violations were actually problems caused by third parties' actions and words, not ADOR.
They explained that they had no means to enforce members' demands on third parties and added that the grounds and evidence were not clear.' and it is exactly what I pointed out in a post a couple pages back. I'm familiar with these types of contracts, I've worked with them before.
In short, NJ can terminate the contract if the label fails to cure the breach, following a notice. The label (ADOR) has 2 options, either release them from the contract or sue if they consider that they've resolved the matters. The court will then determine which party has caused a breach of contract, then they can either walk free or be forced to carry out the contract until its expiration date (or pay a penalty fee and terminate the contract) but legally as of now they're still part of ADOR

What I don't understand is why these girls stoop to Hybe's level of media play, a bunch of the things they said in the press conference simply make no sense from a legal standpoint. So it all goes back to MHJ, if what Ador stated is true and if they can prove that the NJ refused any communication with the label once she was fired, there will be no contract termination, unless they're willing to pay millions of dollars in penalty fees. Props to them for standing up to their label but this is far more complicated. All I can hope is that whoever is behind their legal team has their best intentions at heart and not just money.

I've seen contracts with similar clauses, the wording is really clever but it doesn't really cover the artists. Notice the key words 'third party', a party other than NewJeans and Ador/Hybe. Unless there's another clause in the contract that directly states that they can terminate the contract if their activities are obstructed by the company/label itself, then it really means nothing.
I believe there will be a legal battle 100% given the amount of money Hybe has invested in them.

But who build that trajectory and who started attacking it?? MHJ build it for the most part!
A good vision or a great idea is worth nothing if you don't have the means to execute it aka money. I can say this because I do have some experience in the industry but any musical act be it a kpop group or a pop star is the result of the teamwork of a bunch of people and a sh*tload of money. MHJ doing everything by herself is the nonsense kpop fans delude themselves with. Like it or not, it was Hybe's money, connections and people that built NJ, in reality MHJ only plays a small part of it.

It's fine if you haven't seen it but most of us have and still do see it.
The complete 180° towards GFriend and justifying their disbandment was kinda hard to miss. They still do it even too this day.
And sorry but if you're justifying Hybe making their artists miserable, not listening to them and quite literally ostracizing them in their own workplace, what else should people reasonably call you?
As I said, I literally in all my 8 years of being an army I have never seen these fandoms beef.
I'm not justifying Hybe's actions in any way, I've said it many times that both MHJ and BSH can burn in hell for all I care. While I do believe that the NJ girls and their parents are not the sharpest tool in the shed, I also do believe they are victims of manipulation by MHJ and whatever sick petty games Hybe is playing. The situation they're in is strictly a result of it.
Associating their brand name so closely to MHJ was a personal choice the girls made and the biggest mistake if you ask me, as if one cannot coexist without the other. All of them have contributed to this hostile environment they're in, you cannot expect a company to treat you with respect after publicly shading them all while still making demands. They would have been in a difficult position regardless because one party was set to drag them down along with her if she didn't get her way while the other is petty af and would pay it back tenfold.
I don't know but it's hard for me to think highly of either of the three parties given their actions.

I was in the fandom back then and genuinely can't remember ever seeing armys beef with gfriend stans. Why is it that every time a kpop stan can't think of an argument or form a logical response to suddenly pin in on armys? Like it doesn't make you more superior...Also, since when not licking the ground MHJ or NJ walk on equals being an Hybe supporter?

I know it's harsh but these girls and their parents are dumb as rocks. Their biggest mistake was to publicly side with MHJ, first thing that should have been done was to get a lawyer independent from MHJ/Ador and Hybe, and guide them in their best interest. I also find it funny how contract termination is never mentioned despite throwing rocks at Hybe, they hate them but love the money and connections the company can provide. How can they expect, even with MHJ as a CEO to have a smooth collaboration after all? Both Hybe and MHJ can burn in hell but I won't be surprised if Hybe will sue them and their parents for breach of contract and demand penalties, they really have no future left in this company...

Like I said, he can sue them.
And I would try so too…
But realistically… winning will be tough because he has to prove that they knew it wasn’t the right cctv footage and still reported on that.
One big example of such a case is Johnny Depp, he sued a British newspaper for defamation after calling him a ‘wife beater’ he lost because this newspaper reported the case based on the information that was given to them that looked like a credible source.
They reported his case based on that information, so they had no ill intentions.
Like superyeah said. These news agencies always want to be the first to break a case, and often they get the information wrong at first and later correct themself.
Suga is unfortunately not the only celebrity or public figure that had to go through false reporting of an incident. But barely anyone tries to sue these news agencies because it’s a loosing game.
Unless like I said, they can prove they intentionally tried a smear campaign. Which is more of a tabloid thing.
But he should try his luck!!!
I agree but it's their responsibility as a news agency to fact check everything before it goes on air, if you're not 100% sure of the content, sources etc. then it shouldn't be shared publicly.
CCTV footage usually has the date and time, does that match with the actual date of the incident? Does the location in the footage match? All of this could have been checked and confirmed in minutes. If you choose to overlook or omit such information from the public just for the sake of sensationalism then you should be held accountable.
-
What he did was stupid and I agree that he should be punished accordingly to his actions but people acting like he has murdered someone is such a reach. There were no victims, no propriety damage and he was ultimately not hurt, hopefully he has learned his lesson and move on.
Now can you sue them for this ? I thought about it again, and even though they deserve it…, it would be tough. You'd need to prove they knowingly shared the wrong footage, which is hard since media outlets rely on their sources and they have to trust that they did the necessary fact check. It wouldn’t be the first time something like this happened. They often correct the mistakes, apologize and face no legal consequences, unless the story was entirely fabricated, which wasn’t the case here.
He could 100% take them to court for defamation, this is actually extremely unprofessional and embarrassing behaviour for a news agency to do, especially since it can be extremely damaging to someone's mental health. Except for the fact that is was a DUI which, was confirmed by Suga in his statement first, everything in JTBC's recounting of the event (based on the false CCTV footage) has been proved to be false.

Of course there're parents that can be awful, but this doesn't seem to be that situation, I have no idea why some people are trying to push that narrative.
In this case we've 5 different parents, all agreeing in which side they had to choose and supporting each other. Parents from different countries btw, with different cultures and that all agree they're glad the moved to Ador. In Minji's mother case they've already mentioned they're not even from Seoul, and she also mentioned in the interview how she found out about the conditions after a year, it wouldn't surprise me if Minji being 14 weren't telling her everything so she wouldn't feel bad for her and wouldn't make her leave the company, because for Minji it was to pursue her dream.
What pisses me off the most is how people of all the fandoms are always complaining about how bad idols are treated and how abbusive companies are, but now that we have THE FREAKING PARENTS of the girls pointing it out and complaining about the conditions, we're all more worried about how "both sides should be held accountable" because most people don't want their favs company to be dragged (not your case), instead of actually taking advantage of this being exposed in the media to complain about it together and make sure this doesn't happen to more idols in the future.
We are idiot.
Let me tell you why, because a child cannot legally sign a contract without the permission of their parents/guardians. I can 100% assure you that all terms and clauses were written in the contract, both the parents and the child/children were fully aware of what their trainee journey would be. The parents basically sign off their children to an entertainment company to do as they wish, but they also have full authority to terminate the said contract.
Any decent parent would terminate the contract at the first sign of mistreatment and abuse if they really cared about the well being of their child, but I guess the promise of fame and money is greater for some.
I had long suspected NJ's parents to be stage parents...
I also believe 100% there should be clear laws limiting the power these entertainment agencies have over the idols/trainees, no one should be forced to live in a dorm, be separated from family, or overall have so much control and influence over their personal life.
-
I can say this because I do have a bit of experience in this field, if you think Hybe or any other entertainment company can dictate what a luxury company worth billions of dollars can or can't do with their contracts you must be delusional. Brand deals or ambassadors are chosen by a team of marketing experts and researchers based on influence, reach and popularity within certain demographic, geographical location and so on. They always have several options lined up, for example if idol A is not available, they'll reach out to idol B and so on. In conclusion it's always the brand making the choice and up to the celebrity/company if they want to accept it or not.

-
I mean they are very VERY young
That's their only saving grace, and that the only excuse I can give them. If they hold this believe past 25 it's over tho
Unfortunately their parents are none the wiser even worse if they're stage parents, then it's game over
-
I don't know how they're going to survive in this industry by being so naive. Taunting the hand that feeds you is one thing but publicly supporting someone that only cares about the money they make off you and talks badly behind your back is another, well good luck from now on.
Wait till they grow up a little and start expressing their own opinions instead of saying yes to everything MHJ says and see how much they'll love her then
-

This is going to backfire on them so badly. They're basically closing the door to any other career opportunity or collaboration not only between them and Hybe but anyone else except MHJ, and she has nothing currently. I said in a different thread that she's not going to take down Hybe but NJ, and looks like she is dead bent on doing so. I'm all in for parents getting involved but please don't be stupid. I already have the feeling that in 1 month max people will begin to change their tune, not necessarily in favor of Hybe but against MHJ. Their careers won't be the same after this mess no matter how it ends.
-
Did people suddenly forget how problematic and a piece of trash MHJ really is? I've never understood the 'I'm rooting for MHJ just because Hybe is evil' camp, especially since both parties are problematic as hell in their own way.
I've worked in the music industry and this case has been clear for me from the beginning.
What people fail to realize is that MHJ is not going to take down Hybe with her, she's going to take down NJ.
-
So? Take the girls and leave. Hybe will recover, BTS has faced far worse smear campaigns by almost everyone kpop stans and western stans, but still are standing perfectly fine. They created this giant beast of annoyance and it will still stand until they return. The doom posts about Hybe being "cooked" LMAO yall letting this very temporary victory of "public" opinion sway yall like we didn't see what happened to Fifty Fifty.
NJ cannot leave Hybe without going to court and asking for contract termination, which will most likely end very badly for them. I know kpop stans romanticize the concept of going independent and creating their own agencies and but many of you don't realize just how much money is actually involved in that. Regardless if MHJ is fired/demoted etc., ADOR and NJ was basically built from the ground with Hybe's money.
