It's mostly because they're not white and like Americans Australia sees any Asian living in Australia as Asian more than their own people and ppl don't really care about kpop because it's Asian pop. There's racism included, they just see themselves as the superior ones.

The only thing I noticed about them is that they seemed to have low energy during the red carpet interviews and they seemed a bit tired in their dancing. I have no idea what their schedule is like but I just assumed it was due to jet lag or nervousness regarding the event. They probably need more media training if they are going to be dealing with western media
stray kids has been touring nonstop since last year and they've been busy with their solo schedules as well like attending fashion events in Europe, promoting in baseball games, making music, two Korean and two Japanese comeback so we stays weren't surprised that they seemed tired and underwhelmed. They've been working nonstop. We were actually surprised that they pulled off such hard choreography at the VMAs. And they were nervous as well and they clearly said it multiple times during interviews.

K-pop definitely has not taken over the west. It still isn’t that popular. It has its niche markets, but overall, it’s not that popular.
Kpop is still a lot popular compared to 2014/15 so if its niche market their popularity is a lot bigger than before. Kpop groups can easily sell out arenas when in 2014/15 it wasn't possible.

China is also a neighboring country to Japan but we don’t see kpop promoting there as a norm. My point is that just because countries are sharing boundaries do not mean it translates to what is happening in actual reality. It’s not just “basic economics”. There is a lot more to this like politics and other stuff.
Back in 2nd gen until 2016 kpop groups desperately promoted in China before they got banned bcz of the political issues and Chinese fans still listen to kpop. If kpop wasn't banned you'd see groups like blackpink seventeen stray kids promoting there a lot. I remember seeing exo having many tours in China. So yes it is political issue if it wasn't kpop would've been as much promoted there as Japan. Kpop's 2nd biggest market was China after Japan during 2nd gen to 2016. You definitely missed the line where I've said "s.korea, Japan and China are neighbour countries they all have political issues but they all consume each other's products" I didn't exclude China. And since China banned them kpop changed their target audience to focus more on western market cz there's more exposure there than China. This is how slowly kpop took over the west, specially USA.

SKZ release songs that they think that even part of their fans might not like as much as other songs.
I feel like the whole risk and making something out of box is part of the fun of their career for them
Han talking about S-Class before It's release:
even they are aware that ppl may not like their music so yes barking about their music will make no change and waste of time cz they're definitely having fun with their creativity so if ppl cant like it they can simply avoid.

yeah lino has been wearing gucci lately. let's see what happens. but i really want samsung to make changbin their ambassador cz he deserves it more than anyone. when all of his members were iphone users he was the only one who had samsung for the longest time.

They sound dumb going on and on about “wESteRn VaLIDatIoN” when that’s just what every group wants, success in other markets. Weird how kpop stans always have something to say about kpop groups promoting in the west when they don’t have these same essays for kpop acts promoting or singing in Japan and other places etc.
It’s giving koreab** energy
I don't think stray kids are willing to change their music style. They've been like this since debut and they didn't care about what the Korean gp like so I don't think western gp would be any of their headache if they don't care about their own nation lol. I think stray kids want to normalize the concept that you can be who you are and still win the heart of people. There's no guarantee that skz will be hella popular like everyone will know their name with the music they're producing but skz doesn't want to lose their identity by changing sounds to fit into a different category that doesn't represent them. Changing sounds was never their intention since debut so no matter how much kpop stans bark about their music sadly for them skz won't change. But you know what's the easiest way? Avoid them and mind your own business. Even in skz's debut song district 9 they actually asked ppl to mind their own business and let them be who they want to be. They knew ppl gonna bark. how ironic!
Also forgot to add something kpop being promoted in japan is more normal than the west cz japan is a neighbour country to s.korea so it's quite normal for any industry to promote themselves in their neighbouring countries (this is a basic economics). The situation of japan, s. korea and china is almost like india, bangladesh and pakistan. all of the countries are neigbour countries none of them like each other politically but consume each others products.

Yes. Lol I get you, it seems there's always something when I go on Twitter, it's hard to keep up.
Those sales are so high tho I'm a little shocked
Lisa is a very popular Japanese artist so I think she also contributed in the album sales. This collaboration is a good exposure for both skz and Lisa tbh.

All i know if other groups did that performance they would get bashed.
you're doing it for others dont worry lol
-
I hope SKZ continue to assert their identity and sound. This performance should be something that all K-POP fans should be proud of.
A Korean group, singing a Korean song, with K-POP choreography and K-POP stage outfits. They're showing the world what K-POP is about without being afraid of rejection.
and not to mention they did all of these with hectic schedule like touring, attending fashion shows, japan comeback, preparing for next korean comeback, music fest etc. like this is a lot for a normal human being. i might've burnt out if i were them. so their hard work is definitely praise worthy.

Tbh everyone is appreciating them the only ones who aren't are bitter miserable kpop stans. The locals they're talking about are just them pretending to be locals

I see no reason for you to make this thread when you already know everything. You don't know the final result of the fan vote so you can't tell who won the vote and stays are also very good at voting don't underestimate their voting power

Yeah, I feel like NMIXX and ITZY are the punching bags right now. At least ITZY has fans here. NMIXX has very little fans on this site, so when something positive is posted, it usually flops. But, if something negative is posted, all of a sudden people come out of the woodwork to have something to say.
I literally expected this thread to flop and get like 2 responses, but as soon as it took a negative turn, now I somehow have an NMIXX thread that started positively make it to 2 pages.
same thing happens in the skz threads. When minazuki post anything related to their achievements I see literally no one commenting other than few stays but if it was about their songs, them not charting on hot 100 billboard or just the channie's room drama I literally saw at least 5-6 pages ppl arguing. People really don't have a job and a life other than badmouthing someone behind thw screen.

Exactly. The way I constantly ignore threads about groups idgaf about lmao.
I've never checked an Nmixx thread before on akp but someone mentioned skz here so came to check what they're saying and saw not just they're trying to shade skz (as always) but itzy and Nmixx too specially lily (she's so cute I'd die for her) so it gave me an idea how terrible ppl are with nmixx.
