Personally I'll put EXO and BP on the same rank, since EXO have better physical sales and touring number it seems. And maybe I'll put Ikon at no 5.

Anyway, overall 3rd gen groups are very weak compared to 2nd gen groups in Japan. From 2nd gen groups we have TVXQ, Bigbang, KARA, SNSD doing extremely well in Japan, other groups like 2pm, Suju, Shinee were doing pretty good as well.

SNSD imo, out of all popular Kpop GG I've seen, they're the most versatile in terms of concept and songs genre, so I think they would adjust well. And their visuals work just fine with current time as well.

Lmao, yet she's nowhere to be seen on Melon or Oricon chart. Multiple U.S/Western acts (even new act) have been charted decently on Melon, so I don't see why she couldn't do it if the interest around her is that big in South Korea.

Yk, the way you talk abt her made me think that 'Good4U' must've been doing something similar to song like 'Billie Eilish-Bad Guy' on Melon/Gaon chart (Bad Guy peaking inside top 10 on both Melon and Gaon main chart), while Olivia can't even crack top 100.

I'd say pretty mainstream. Unless they live in a cave, ppl in their 10s-30s will know what Kpop is, whether they're male or female. Multiple Kpop acts have been endorsing local brand in my country as well. Also 2 out of top 5 most streamed acts on Youtube (past 12 months) in my country were Kpop acts. I'm from SEA btw.

So adding to your list, I'd say Rollin and Dynamite will have a high chance of being inside top 10.

From what I see, maybe after 3-4 continuoulsy extremly successful comeback (consistency is the key). Also, if possible they need to excel in more than just digital. I think the only GG who manage to gain a top group status with 'domestic digital performance' alone is Sistar, and we know how many hit songs they had. And maybe WG to some extent, but they literally manage to get 3 back to back National Hits, so the standard seems pretty high if all you have is digital.

For EXO, I'd say 2015 Comeback is def their most hyped comeback ever imo. Also no offense, but I don't think many non-fans paid that much attention to DMUMT comeback. Meanwhile EXO and Bigbang 2015 comeback were the biggest event of the year in Kpop.

Overall, in terms of comeback hype I guess I'll rank it like this:

2020 BTS-Dynamite & MOTS7 (and maybe all their main comeback after they rise to #1)

2015 Bigbang-MADE

2011 SNSD-The Boys

2015 EXO - Exodus

2016 Twice-TT/2020 BP-The Album

2010/2011 Super Junior-Bonamana/Mr. Simple
