Are BTS known more for their achievements than their hit songs?

What's crazy is that you can add Run, Dope, I NEED U, Save Me, Not Today, Make It Right, Black Swan, On, My Universe, LGO, and Boy in Luv to this list.
And even then you'd be missing songs like Savage Love Remix, Euphoria, Waste it on Me, Stay Gold, Lights, and Permission to Dance.
Hit-makers for real.
Yup, I knew it wasn't doing justice to the true extent of hits they have had but wanted to keep it short and sweet.

Whats strange about that?
Many artists/celebrities are famous and known to people just for being famous basically, rather then whatever songs they have doneI know who drake, beyonce, taylor swift, bruno mars, justin bieber, post malone etc are and what they look like, yet i cant name a single song from any of them.

This thread makes no sense.

No. Music, lyrics and performances is what made BTS big, it's what they are known for. I as a fan won't be able to name you their exact achievements without searching for it except for very general facts like that they got #1 on bb200 and hot100 and also got daesang sweep but I can discuss their best and worst songs and performances right on the spot and I am pretty sure majority of fans are like me.
this signature...a different kind of evil lmao

I think they're known for having a lot of fans more than their achievements. And I don't know how popular Dynamite is, it is pretty big but is it bigger than their reputation of having a lot of fans?

But u dont know their achievements...

Well i know they have several big hits, awards, sold millions of albums etc. My reason for knowing of the artists and their fame is mainly because other peoples interest in them, and its the same for BTS for me, even if i know alot more about them in general than the others i mentioned, but that knowledge comes because i frequent a forum like this.
I guess what im trying to say is that BTS are on the same lvl as any of the other big worldwide artists. Many will know them because of their songs etc of course, but as many or more will have heard of them their name without really knowing any of their songs or knowing much about them.

For both things.

You mean household name? And mainstream? Yeah they kinda are.
Gosh this reminded me the time when some users vehemently said that no one knows BTS (in the west) because their aunt and cousins don’t know them. And now it’s the question - do people just know BTS and not their music? Lol
And speaking of music, many GP are familiar with Dynamite and Butter, but some don’t know who is singing those songs. So for BTS, they really have the best of both worlds - being well known as a group and at least two very popular songs globally.

Oh im not trying to say BTS are not known, my point is the opposite, that they are on the same level as any of the top artists, yet none questions if they are only known for their achivements etc.

Huh, you know all those from the top of your head? Or do you just mean thats what could be considered their hit songs in general?
its funny but i can barely remember more than three songs from the artists i usually listen to, but because i follow korean charts i can name dozens of songs ive never even heard once.
