It's sad! I'm like invested in the show right now but Oscar Issac said that he only signed up to do one 6-episode season. And he has no desire to be in the MCU...

He's pheonomenal actor in this series. The way he does both accents and can talk to himself without even being British is so good! I've seen him in other filmographies such as Star Wars and Dune but this series made me second guess his nationality...

  • As someone who reads comics and is a pretty big comic book fan, mostly from my dad, I'm thinking of telling you some of the information from the comic. But I also don't because it might have spoilers for future episodes.

I didn't know this! I guess that's part of why it's... not really connected to MCU stuff (like previous characters or other things. It's very contained at this point). I wonder how the writers will connect this show into the bigger picture then. :melon_think:

Agreed. You really believe he's two different people!

Lol I skimmed through the wikipedia page for fun. But I'm mostly going in blind. It's more exciting! :pepe-shoooketh:

Yeah...it's almost like Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil (well, that's kind but I won't say anything due to spoilers unless you've seen the recent MCU movies) are sort of disconnected from the MCU. They take place in different cities and overall don't really mention the Avengers or things like that.

So I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I think what Oscar Issac decided was pretty smart. Actors like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johanssan, etc. have been tied to the MCU and the characters they play for as long as I can remember. It's almost like they're defined by their characters in public and they barely got any time to work on other projects. They were getting paid a lot of money per movie but they were so busy with their work.

Tom Holland says he's already worn out. I mean, it makes sense. He's been in like 5 Marvel movies the past 5 years or so.

Agreed. You really believe he's two different people!

Yep! That's truly impressive. I also caught him a few times sounding a bit British when speaking in an American accent during the show too haha. Talented actors can perform in another accent other than their own and do it well. But he just takes it a step further.

  • Yeah I don't blame Isaac at all for sure. Filming for these movies is like years upon years of work. I can't imagine.

I haven't seen Isaac outside of Star Wars, so this was certainly a delight, and I definitely won't be overlooking his acting in the future!

LOL did it solve any of your questions?

I remember doing that for a series I never finished and it blew my mind on how crazy it gets.

It's a Spanish telenovela aimed for teenagers that we spend a semester and a half watching for Spanish III class and it gets even crazier in the future.

We only legally had Season 1 but there's 6 seasons and I read through it because the only way I can watch it is illegally or with a VPN so I won't bother lol

lol not really. I didn't read all of it. I was curious enough to peak at it, you know? But not curious enough to like... see a bunch of spoilers. It was like, a very slight peak haha. :pepe-peek:

My only real exposure to Moon Knight was his appearance in the 2017 Spider Man cartoon... that portrayal was brief and very different from this show so I don't think it's gonna help me understand anything lol.

Yeah...I mean it seems cool. You get paid a lot of money and are known even more because of the popularity of these movies. But it's also something I would never do, being tied to the same character over a course of so many years, especially when it distracts you from other projects.

Yep! And he didn't really shown that often in the Star Wars movies. This really showcased his talent and besides Dune, Star Wars and Moon Knight are the only shows/movies I've seen him act in!

    Isn't he just?

Had to stop and search up where he's from at some point :oks:

I would like to see him more in the mcu, but i guess that'll be up to him :sob-bunny:

Hope the hefty check makes him come back :mukbang:

Don't read comics, so I've been going in blind for this one :pepe-dj:

    It's kind of fun ngl

Ive been enjoying coming up with theories :pepe-notes:

Maybe we can discuss it after the final, I wouldn't want to be spoiled :pepe-onions:

  • lol not really. I didn't read all of it. I was curious enough to peak at it, you know? But not curious enough to like... see a bunch of spoilers. It was like, a very slight peak haha. :pepe-peek:

Haha I do that sometimes! Like especially when I'm confused about something and need to look it up, I can't read much because I'm too afraid of spoiling what I haven't watched...(which is also a problem with shows with a full season released at once).

    LOL probably not :p

I think you'd only understand it if you read the comics, watch the full season (I feel like most questions will be answered with it) or read the fandom wiki

    :yesr:

It'd be hard to explain and I don't want to spoil anything for you! It's always nice to watch a comic book/novel/webtoon/manga turn into its own animated or live action film adaption though!

  • Yeah it's very rare that I read the book, then watch the adaptation. It's usually the other way around lol.

Comics are something I need to get more into, but I keep putting it off.

    :pepe-cringe:

I've read a lot of manga as a kid, and that's also something I want to get more into too. I've enjoyed the anime for My Hero Academia, A Silent Voice, and Iruma-kun. So that's also on my list.

  • Haha, yeah...sometimes it's not even intentional. I just read something a while ago and boom, it's announced that it's going to become an anime/movie/show adaptation lol.

Like I read the Invicinible comic book series before it came out as a show and I thought it was so cool. True Beauty and All of Us Are Dead are both based on webtoons. And All of Us are Dead must've been so popular in Korea that it got its own Netflix show despite the first episode (on Webtoon) being released in August 2021 while the show was released in January 2022

    LMAOOO I can relate...

I've been planning on getting back into anime and reading manga because I used to be really into it, especially in middle school. But people keep talking about anime they watch/manga they read and I want in on the fun :sob-bunny:

Oh, interesting! I need some anime and manga recommendations and I have one friend who's really into it and he just said you have to find something that you can really get into.

  • Yeah I think like with some of the anime I'm loosely following particular, it would be nice to get caught up on the manga they are based on so I can like, be ahead and not wait for the anime to get caught up? Like manga readers know everything and here I am waiting slfjka

I tend to get intrigued with manga with unique artstyles. Like, Tokyo Ghoul and Beastars has some of the most gorgeous and detailed manga art. I'm not just enjoying the story. I'm really taking in the art!

I feel like for anime/manga there are some standard/generic styles out there... which isn't a bad thing, but I really love finding unique gems like those!
