Honestly, Kpop is not huge in Vietnam nowadays. It was in the past when the Hallyuwave started with K-dramas and the rise of 1st and 2nd gen Kpop. Most vietnamese ares still stanning SNSD, BigBang and T-ara. For newer groups, the only group I see them talking about there is BTS and BlackPink. But now that their own music industry Vpop is getting better, they now are leaning more to their own artists than Kpop. Even with Hanbin that debuted with Tempest and from a company that is a step up from nugu, not all vietnamese are stanning him. Many do, but still many aren't. I feel that if Kpop companies were to focus and invest on Southeast Asia like they do with China and Japan, it would mainly be Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. I already see some groups making CF deals in Indonesia and the Philippines.

I think the support for KPOP in Vietnam is overrated compared to other SEA countries.

Who is overrating their support? They always seem like an afterthought.
Would you prefer that the Vietnamese public spend their money more on V-pop singers or more on K-pop singers ?
V-Pop.
Korea's economy is already doing well. VP should support their own economy and make their own culture thrive.

When people say SEA are streaming kings, it's not all of the SEA nations. Mainly Thailand, Indonesia and now the Philippines that are contributing the most. Vietnam does too, but they are not close to the trio when it comes to streaming and other awareness for Kpop. Only for BlackPink and BTS.

Vpop. It's important for vietnamese to support their own music culture and make it grow. The Kpop regiment and Korea's culture are too different and harsh for Vietnam. I'm happy Hanbin and Tram Anh they got the chance, but them joining Kpop hasn't made any big impact for Korea nor Vietnam.

I don't even think the second gen that popular there especially compare to Bts and Bp. Kpop are quite popular in Vietnam because of them.
Other than that, I never really heard that Vietnam become the main support of Kpop in SEA. None actually talk about fans from there, except when Hanbin debuted which is only really small part of kpop community. Even Singapore are topping them especially in term of sales. Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand also dominant in streaming. To sum up, nobody actually think about Vietnam as the main kpop supporters in SEA which make this thread irrelevant. How the support is overrated when it's not even really there at the first place. I curious how you come out with this.
