In history, the max number of girl groups who fight for supremacy is usually 2 or 3.
There are more coming online, but I have to say that the supremacy will be contested by aespa, ive and le sserafim, given the hype.
I myself think aespa will still have the last laugh.
Le sserafim appears to be geared towards Japan, and although it will probably enjoy some success in Korea, its two other Korean (although one is American) members are not going to change too much buzz, and since people in Korea saw everything MIyawaki Sakura could do (and she will probably more emphasize her activities in Japan anyways), newer interests will be harder to come by.
Ive started strong, but Starship is always weak on maintaining an act's interest for too long.
Although in this period of sales inflation everyone will try to outsell each other, given aespa has generated the most foreign interest overall, I still stand with my analysis that it will have the last laugh.
Given that the Big Boss of Korean Domesticism is taking this year off to act in some series, aespa is likely to compete for the Throne with the main Hybe act, winning Grand Prizes.
Ive and Le Sserafim have members from IZOne, who lost every single battle against the Big Boss of Korean Domesticism, and Ive lost , in 2021 and 2022, to the Big Boss again, the Big Boss becoming Ive's greatest sworn foe. Le Serafim will miss the Big Boss but it is unlikely that their fate will cross the Big Boss's since when they gain enough traction they will perform in Japan more often.
That leaves aespa, who were also defeated by the Big Boss last year but at least does not have a history of losing against her, to finally subdue the Big Boss, a task aespa might have to fulfill for the future of 4th Generation and Beyond.
