I think it's what I always say
the silent majority is often drowned out bu the vocal minority
like most other forms of social media (I would say reddit is one) the bad apples tend to be loudest and creepiest...
personally I just stick to with to the subreddits I like since one doesn't actually need an account to see the content

Whenever I read those subreddits, I feel like interacting as well. That's why I made an account! Thankfully, the rest of the interactions for now have been pleasant. Hopefully, it stays that way

That kind of happened to me with Genius (lyrics website). I made an account with my profile picture of a FROG of all things and within literal seconds someone with a naked profile picture (with all manner of creepy things in their bio) follows me. No report or block button as I'm aware so I logged out and never logged in again... Yikes!!

This reminds me of the time when a user I mutually followed on twitter (didn't know they were this shit) started posting nudes and porn of famous celebrities. I had to mute them (I think I blocked them as well idk) bc of the disgusting weird stuff I had to see. Makes me wonder the number of people I met regularly that might be posting such shit online.
