So what badges so far do you consider "the standard" for LE Badges?
Hm I think if the MV is pretty it turns out pretty 
I think it's nice if the vibe of mv and song is captured and if not too much is going on.
Also when people have like a bunch of le badges displayed, way too much is going on imo
And what are the requirements for you to consider a LE Badge worth buying (consider that you have enough akorns before buying it)?

To me, a good LE badge doesn't necessarily needs to reach 30 seconds, but actually have good chosen images and be clear and fluid.
The middle one you have there is really nice. I like how clear it is. Some of them look kinda grainy.
I like when there's a good mix of different shots - close up, midrange, wide. I also like when there's a mix of motion and more still/slow shots.

Though I usually prefer ones that have fewer shots overall and play a bit "slower". I love this video so much tho and it has a lot of great shots.

The only badge that I planned to buy, but didn't was the Eleven badge because it didn't have my favorite parts of the MV and instead I bought the Pirate badge the came out after that.
(This isn't counting badges that I now want, but didn't buy because I couldn't afford them/weren't a major fan of the group at the time and now just have non-buyer's remorse over.)

Not yet. I was staff for most of them so I haven't hit that point yet, but I'm sure it's coming.
I did spent 1000k on the MX and SVT AllKill badges last month that I could have used on a LE badges this month.

It has very high quality resolution,long duration(so worth the akorns) & is very pretty

i haven't had any desire to buy an le badge...but the ones i've seen as most say veryberrys does are always clear, and crisp and well made. Some LE badges are heavily edited down that you can see obvious pixelations, and sometimes it's just makes the badge so grainy. I'd rather have a shortened length badge with a crisp clear animation then some long drawn out one that's so grainy.
I still find the IU Strawberry Moon one of the best badges overall:

The graininess is caused by the number of colors, not the length. A short badge with a ton of colors will be more grainy than a long badge with very few colors, since we essentially have 0.001% of the color range of the MV to work with.
I agree that less grain is better though, just offering an explanation for why it doesn't always work out that way despite our best efforts.

I see, that makes sense then. I assumed it happened when you try to fit so much in a short span of time and sit here and condense it down or whatever and it becomes extremely grainy.

Thanks for this! I'm trying to put together the BTS MMA IDOL badge right now and hopefully knowing this, everyone can set their expectations accordingly. It's a huge trade-off between trying to capture just how colorful the performance was, capture great scenes for all 7 members, any iconic choreo and still keep it in the 256 colors max that a gif allows while also being mindful of the size limits we have to stay within. RIP. Amazing performance though!

I would think performance based badges are even harder cuz you you need so many frames to capture the motion and also cuz those tend to have so many wide shots that don't fit nicely into a square badge, so it's hard to get the same effect.
Yes, live performances add lots of complexities. Besides the ones you mention, the angles are not usually as well done as in an MV and the camera work may not up to par (sometimes downright shoddy). many times the video that we have to take the scenes from will not be the best quality (which can contribute to graininess in the end) or have a color cast that we have to neutralize/work around.
This is beyond the usual work of taking a 3-4 minute video and trying to smoothly truncate them into a much shorter and smaller image, carefully trying not to lose the important details. This is why it is always much appreciated that if you are interested in the badge, tell us what scenes are important to you, that you would like to see!
There is a lot that goes in to making these and our interpretation of what is important may not be yours, especially if we are not part of that fandom.
i'm too lazy to recall my fav badges rn (aside from thunderous), but i do wish there were more badges similar to kai's peaches badges where they're short scenes with a more limited color palette. it makes them clearer and much easier to match with an aesthetic. i know fitting in all members of a group in one badge is prob the biggest factor though. i do really love these ones and wish there were similar ones of my faves, but that would prob only work for individual member badges

oof, true. i assumed it was bc it seems like army on here prefer OT7 badges, but that is very true. i'm sure they'll have a comeback soon.
