PTD Seoul will result in a loss

  • When an artist book a single stadium for many dates, that means their will be no stage and production changes for the further dates. A huge expense saved

They said they booked 2 venues just in case and picked jamsil over the smaller venue when it got approved for bigger audience. They also said in the past they booked and cancelled so many times cos of the restrictions.

  • Yea I guess he meant it based on past profits. Cos usually if they had a 3 day con they will be earning more than that. Now they are earning less but the production costs and other costs remain high. Maybe everything will just equalise in the end with no profits or little profit.

Nope. I think he meant only through ticket sales they will generate losses. Not through the whole concert.

MUSTER SOWOOZOO did $71m with no audience and MOTS ON:E did $44m with no audience and production costs were as high as normal concerts.

Overall it will end up generating profits. He meant it will generate losses only through ticket sales. I mean in 2019 4 dates of the same stadium did $16m and this time it will do at best $4m-5m.

Ahhh I see what you mean. He was talking about the physical concert generating losses

mots one was not at the stadium i think

but yeah, sowoozoo is a similar case i think

yep, mots one was at an arena (15k cap)

And sowoozoo was outside Seoul Olympic stadium (if I am not wrong)

  • how do other groups make concert profits in this pandemic??

bts were already given an exception & could expand the capacity to 15k instead of the original amount..

i'm also happy Jin made clear that the boys really wanted this concert to go through.

i understand profits always play a big roll in these kind of decisions, but these men made their company the richest one ever in kpop history. so i'm glad they finally get to see karmy since they get so much energy and love out of it.

hope the boys have the best time!!

  • I have no idea tbh. Maybe that’s the reason most of the them are trying to do cons overseas. Jin didn’t say anything about fighting to do concert, however he did mention they had backup venues in case jamsil fell thru. Yes the physical concert will bring in losses, however the merch, live streaming and theatre releases should bring some profits or at least break even. But it’s so clear how much they love performing even to the point of wanting to do it for Korean armys with monetary loss. They can only do it cos they are BTS.

yeah, i based it on another translation i read.

either way, happy to see the boys are so excited to see their karmy again

  • They really did push through for this K-concert to happen after numerous cancellations, though I understand that they also need to cut the 45k to 15k capacity (so of course revenues will be cut too) to follow the protocols! I'm happy for the Tannies & K-Armys to relieve that live moments of performances!

For the success of PTD Seoul Concert! Cheers! :pepe-toast:

  • Awwww! I’m glad they’re doing it even if it doesn’t make them their usual profit. It’s been a while since they’ve gotten to do something special with a live Korean audience. One thing about BTS tho is they’re going to perform if they can. You can tell they love performing.
