My Thoughts on Ajanae

Before I get into the actual discussion, I have a few things I want to mention right now to clear up so no one is confused:

1. Please, please do not send any hate to her. I know full well that what she is doing is wrong, but if you fight her hate towards the groups with hate from you, it won’t solve anything. In fact, it will partially (but likely not quite completely) lower you down to her level.
2. As I hope you recognize from the above point, I am not making this thread to hate on her in any aspect, only to critique some of the actions she has done and words she has said that rub me the wrong way.
3. By all means, if I miss anything, and I likely will because I have poor memory, please correct me or add it to the comments. I would like my thread to be relatively exhaustive.
4. If any part of my thread violates any of the AllK-Pop Forum rules, I will be happy to take it down or modify it to better fit the rules, just let me know which ones were broken and what would be the best course of action for me to take.
5. I do not believe in stalking and did not go through all of her content just to make this thread. I limited myself to whatever offenses I could think of without actively searching for them, then only went to find proof of said offenses so you would not have to rely on my word alone.
6. Reasons why I am making this thread:
   1. So that people who know her or have subscribed to her can know some of what I consider to be her wrong doings. Most people may know of perhaps one or two of her offenses and brush it off as no big deal, but I think seeing the whole list all at once can help sink in the severity of the issue for some people.
   2. Because someone on here (I forget who) once said that the only people who get offended by her are white teenagers and I would like to safely disprove this point by stating what she has done that I consider to be objectively wrong.
   3. Someone on YouTube (again, I forget who), once commented on why the reason that Ajanae ignores or gets angry towards the critique she has received so far is because either it is all hate or there is nothing constructive provided. I would like to provide her with some constructive criticism in case she is genuinely interested in improving. This is not done to tell her how to run her channel at all, it’s to help her. It’s her channel, she can do with it what she likes, as long as YouTube is fine with it and it is reasonable.

With that being said, I think that covers everything for now. I doubt everything I have to say will fit into the main post, so there will be plenty of replies below the main post. The initial replies I make below the main post are a continuation of my post, so please treat them as such. I will put each of the different sections in their own spoiler, so as not to overload your screen with a huge wall of text (at first).

This first section will be dedicated to everything I can think of that she has said against Stray Kids or their fans specifically. This is because since they are one of my current favorite groups, I tended to notice her offenses towards them more frequently. Here are all the things she has said against them that I can think of off the top of my head in no particular order:

1. Put both Bang Chan and Hyunjin on a list of K-Pop idols they wanted to fight. It’s fine to dislike someone and liking everyone is pretty hard, but to want to fight someone? It seems like her issue here is with their racial controversies and I completely understand feeling offended over that, but actually fighting said people would not solve anything.

1. Called 3racha bad rappers and called one of them a h*lf-breed. It’s fine to dislike their rap style or just not prefer it, but they are objectively good rappers, like it or not. Also, the fact that she admitted she didn’t even know what a polyrhythmic rap was and instead called the rappers who did it offbeat says quite a bit. About the h*lf-breed comment, I find it quite ironic that she’s so openly racist and hasn’t apologized for it, when we already saw from the last point that people being racially insensitive bothers her.

1. Said that she considers it a red flag if someone is a Stay and likes their rapline or the group in general. I know Stays are considered toxic and I get why to some extent, but not all of us are. For example, most of us Michelins are pretty non-toxic from what I’ve seen so far.

1. Called Stray Kids “skid markz” and called their music “musical terrorism”. Do I even need to explain why this is messed up? She said it’s a joke, and forgive me if I’m being overly sensitive, but you just don’t joke about terrorism. Also said they should disband if they don’t make better music.

1. Said that Chan and the rest of Stray Kids deserve all the hate they get and should get ten times more. I know what brutally honest is, what hateful is, and the difference between them. This, to me, falls safely in the hateful category.

1. In a video about K-Pop artists she likes and hates, when she was discussing artists she hates, said the only reason when didn’t put Stray Kids in her makeshift, photoshopped prison is because they would see the metal bars and start creating a bunch of loud, powerful waves and call it music. I get that was supposed to be an insult, but that’s what music technically is.

1. Implies that all Stays condone every single wrong thing they’ve ever done and worships the ground they walk on. I can’t speak for everyone, but I certainly don’t do that and I highly doubt the other Michelins do as well.

1. When discussing the “This Is America” scandal Chan had, mentioned how he had a bland personality. As I mentioned before, it’s fine to not absolutely love every person on this planet or their personality, but this was not only not true (in my opinion), it was also not relevant to the topic at hand and I fail to see how that comment was needed.

I know there’s probably more that I missed, but these are what I could think of. Let me know if I missed any. Now, onto the next sections:

If you thought Ajanae only has a bone to pick with Stray Kids, you’re in for a surprise. Far from it actually, it seems like she hates everyone except for a couple groups. Some of these include:

1. Calls TXT, BTS and some other male groups (forget exactly which ones beyond those two, sorry about that) tw*nks. Now, how you take that may vary from person to person, but do with that knowledge what you will.

1. Refers to Everglow as Neverglow. Calling a group mean names never solved anything, ever. It’s also toxic and just not needed. Just ignore the groups you hate and focus on the very few groups you do like. Is that so hard?

1. Calls Itzy Sh*tzy and nohitzy (uses both interchangeably), as well as just insulting them in general. Pretty much my same reasoning as above, so I won’t repeat it here.

1. Wanted Wendy to fall again. I think all of you have at least heard about Wendy’s infamous fall. She fell from six feet (I think I heard that somewhere, correct me if I’m wrong) and had she landed wrong, she could have died. That isn’t something you wish on someone no matter how much you dislike them. I think I forgot where she originally said this, but if someone wants to remind me, that would be much appreciated. If it turns out she didn’t say that, I’ll remove that part of the post and apologize for spreading misinformation.
2. Made fun of Bahiyyih. This girl was going through a lot of hate and still is if I remember right. Posts like these do not help, nor are they funny (to me).

Yes, you’d be surprised yet again, she also found ways to be problematic outside of exclusively K-Pop. Who knew?

1. If you look at their channel banner, they call themselves a famous misandrist. To me, I fail to see how it is okay to hate someone all based on one thing that they can’t control. People can’t control if they are a guy, girl or non-biniary, so why hate them for that?

1. Made fun of Prince Phillips' death. Now, I’m not sure why she hates him or what he did that is wrong, if anything. To be honest, I don’t know much about him at all. What I do know is that you absolutely do not mock someone’s death or treat it lightly. That’s wrong on so many levels I hardly know where to start.

1. Implies that being white is somehow a bad thing. No race is any better or worse than others and you are not a better or worse person solely because of your race. I can’t believe some people still need to hear that.

1. Mocked Christianity. Do I even need to say what is wrong with this picture? I feel like even if you are not one, you can understand why this is wrong. I promise not to go on a religious rant, but maybe don’t do stupid stuff like that.

1. In a heated fight with another YouTuber, she insulted Arabs. Again, there was no need to. I won’t get into the fight itself much because that’s a can of worms for another day, but if you are curious as to what happened in this fight, this video does a good job of explaining it. This is normally the part where I’d link to her original offense, but I think she took the video down where she insulted Arabs.

These are both smaller sections, so I paired them together. First of all, she is 20. An adult. How she is a full grown adult and does all this with no remorse is something I don’t think I can wrap my mind around.

Secondly, her subscribers say that her channel is satire. I was curious to see if this was true, so I looked it up and, much to my surprise, a lot of what she does actually fits underneath that umbrella, at least to some extent. For context, satire is defined as: "a way of making fun of people, using silly or exaggerated language". So, that’s it? Everything is justified since it is satire? Not so fast. Just because something is satire does not excuse it. Jokes and satire do not justify more than half of the things I pointed out.

Now, let’s suppose that Ajanae does want to actually improve herself for a second. How could she do that? Here is my take:

1. Remove the clips I had mentioned previously from their respective videos. I am fine with jokes and I like people with a sense of humor, but let's put it this way. I’m the type of person who would laugh at a slice of toast falling and I almost never even chuckle at any of her jokes. I know that humor is subjective, so if you find something she said that I mention here funny, kindly explain to me which one.
2. Release a sincere apology for her actions that crossed the line. She has complained about some idols in the past with bad apologies, and I do understand that, but now that she knows what a bad apology looks like, she should know what not to do in hers to make hers turn out good.
3. Not repeat the same mistakes (mocking people’s death, repeatedly being racist, being homophobic and so on) and show actual growth as a person.
