gold crowns or gold fillings (or gold alloy I guess) are disproportionately popular in Korea for whatever reason, so they're probably that. Both times I had to get a crown I had to go out of my way to say I wanted porcelain (or whatever the teeth colored one is), the dentist was really surprised I didn't want gold lol. People love gold because in theory you never have to replace them.

I don't see anything wrong with that because gold will never lose value. I'm not a big fan of gold teeth implants, but you can look at that as an investment. You can always get your money back if you decide you don't like your teeth anymore.|
