did they even like... have a downfall? they were doing well still but then the company just yeeted their group out of existence lol

Same.. Mago was such a great song and did ok internationally... but koreans just ignored their existence, it was so frustrating..

Unfortunately accurate. The girls were acting completely normally the day before the disbandment, still doing vlives and whatnot. I get the impression they were blindsided by this.

People saying they were doing great but if y’all were on the old AKP forums people were clowning their downfall and charting.
Time for the moonrise was their last hit. After that they started to underperform. I think their concept change and new girl groups coming out made them lose their shine but all groups go through these stages. You just lose steam after awhile.

People have like.....goldfish memory here? Mago fell out of Top 100 Melon after only 9 days (Compared to say Fever w/ 63 days) and their last album Walpurgis Night sold 20k less than the previous one. There was an obvious decline even though Mago did better Internationally. Saying there was no downfall has the same energy as saying that Pristin was doing amazing before they were disbanded: all the actual stats say that ya'all are just dead wrong

as someone who's been a Buddy since their debut, i'm gonna say there really wasn't a downfall.
ups and downs? sure. it's hard to top Rough and after Fingertip, the interest in them did decline. but they weren't completely down and out. after getting acquired by Big Hit, the interest in them was slowly coming back. their "回" series did much better
it's so upsetting bc i saw them on american interview etc. videos on youtube after Apple & Mago. both songs really put them out there internationally and everything was amazing but something went horribly wrong and we woke up to that terrible news. i truly believe they were on a more upward trajectory until everyone got blindsided.
so they never had a downfall.
