Seventeen "Attacca" Album Review

I know I'm late...

Let's get it...

1. To You

Nice intro rising from the fade..

Okay... I love the verses, they ave very playful vibe to it.. The chorus is so SEVENTEEN-ish. I like it.

However, the whole chorus goes on for way too much... There are lot of lines in it making it a little less catchy and drains the momentum... That's just too much imo.

Production is fire. Good vocals, SVT.

Rating :- 8/10

2. Rock with You

Okay... Starting off... I love the vibe they going for...

Chorus is so-so. With the way it is sung.. It should have hit harder but it's more restrained. "Baby Hold On" part is nice, I guess.

Wow the bridge is beautiful...

I just don't like the last chorus. It is not that great imo.

Rating :- 7.25/10

3. Crush

Okay... That synth is very intriguing. The texture is very future-bass ish...

I like this song. The bassline is good as well. Nothing much to say here...

Rating :- 7.75/10

4. PANG!

Harmonies are pretty. Silliest Chorus I've heard yet in KPOP.

Where is this song going? Pre-chorus is the prettiest part in the song.

This is giving me really GAM3 BOI like vibe but even more silly...

Rating :- 4.5/10 (Including +2 for that Pre-chorus)

5. Imperfect Love

Very dramatic intro...Pop-rock like influence...Good

A pretty song. Beautifully sung. But that's just it. Very much empty on verses. Chorus is good, like really good.

But this left me unsatisfied, like they could have made chorus melody even stronger...

Rating :- 7.25/10

6. I can't run away

Yes to the intro... I love the guitar.

First half of the verse 1 is aight... But second half and the chorus really takes it to a new height. I feel like one of the rappers (maybe Vernon or Wonwoo or even Mingyu) is singing in the chorus...

Rating :- 8/10

7. 2 MINUS 1 - Bonus Track

For the first time in this album, I am excited for how this song goes based on intro...

Very intriguing production.

Good momentum.. Some caveats :- I don't like that phrasing of "I'm super fine, I, I" And "I'm so lonely lonely lonely"... I thought like they were singing "Rolling Rolling"

Good song.

Rating :- 8/10

Conclusion :- This album is the most uninteresting material I have heard from SVT in a while.

Additional Notes :-

Coming from Your Choice, This is an unimaginable downgrade for them musically. When members said this particular was amazing (idk which members said it, it was either Seungkwan or Hoshi as far as I remember, I saw it on twitter posted by a carat (I believe it was from Weverse), I was so excited).

One of the reasons I can't get into SVT is their inconsistent output.

An Ode was one of the best albums of all time released in KPOP. Heng:Garae was nothing special. Semi:colon was aight. Your Choice was just phenomenal. And this is a massive downgrade from Your Choice.

Personally, Attacca is one of my most favourite albums by SVT following An Ode and Heng;Garae. I loved it 100x more than I liked Your Choice, this one resonated more with me than the former album.

Well I love both album and don’t see attacca as downgrade compared to your choice. Each shows different phase of love and they well put those themes. And only title track has far different but I don’t see much difference in overall. Only thing for me is Hiphop unit needs to work more on finding their own styles. Their songs are appealing enough to me. For both albums.
