I get an uneasy feeling: the fake empathy, the brown-nosing, the "deep" prying of bubblegum pop.
Something about him screams life insurance salesman.

Lmao
not really.
you guys are so mean to anyone who interacts with kpop idols lmao always calling them creepy or weirdos
Not really he seems like genuinely nice person
His interview with my faves was excellent imo
He’s one of the best interviewers out there.
IMO he's one of the better ones, unlike most american music interviewers which are douchey FM Radio hosts
op was doing really well and then he started acting up again and got banned, again
until next time, boob guy!

nope, he seems like a pretty nice guy
No, what I find creepy is this trend of nit-picking every possible flaw about people to make them look horrible (and if there's nothing negative noticeable, they make up things like the stuff you said "fake empathy" and "deep prying BG pop").
I don't know him personally obviously I can be wrong about him but from the things I have seen, this guy's behavior seems like the result of this culture. He is too careful not to offend, sound rude, or shallow in any way to people who get off to canceling. However, even when he is walking on eggshells or just seems nice he eventually gets called "fake" like this. You really can't please people so you better never try to get their validation.
It seems like he’s one of the people in the US who genuinely makes an effort to do his research and ask proper and well thought out questions rather than just the gimmicky superficial questions like who they want to collaborate with in America.
OP aside, since there's a decent discussion about this...
I think he's alright. Sure, he might not be the most well versed in K-pop knowledge, but he tries his best to be a good host. I've never seen any sign of condescendence from him.
Other hosts seem to hold western artists on a pedestal and treat K-pop artists as if they're on a much lower level. I've never seen this from Zach, so he's okay in my book. He takes a genuine interest in and has high regard for the artists he interviews.
