But these things are more on the award orgs., than artists.
If the industry wants to keep growing, it should provide platforms to highlight the newer/lesser known talents. But often they too are more interested in riding the wave and profiting, so end up awarding the same acts- who have already proven themselves as legendary.
In any case, awards used to be arbitrator of tastes, in the bygone era. But now, with social media and real time tracking of consumption. Awards are purely for the fans to brag/rage about.
