Fun fact: pink being associated with Girls and blue with Boys is a modern concept. In fact it was once the opposite. That’s why older Disney princesses were wearing blue dresses instead of pink.
Also splitting toys in to genders was a manufacturing idea around the 40s (before the toys were gender neutral) to sell more toys, cause they realized that wealthy parents would buy a whole new set of toys if it’s marketed towards a specific gender.

To be fair, the toy business back then was nothing compared to what it became from the 80's onwards. Toys were simple wooden objects and some dolls I guess. But nothing like action figures, miniature cars, Barbie dolls with many outfits and accessories... Most people didn't have money to spend on children toys. So toys had to be durable and timeless.

Families who weren’t that wealthy were more likely to buy toys all the kids could play with. At the end of the day kids don’t really care as long as they got something to play with.

The dumbest thing the Toy-industry ever did was putting a "girl"-version of the Überraschungsei into the market altho this piece of chocolate contains the same gender-neutral toys than the original version of it... I think that firstever apeared in 2016 if I'm not mistaken and boy this is so stupid... they just put a small pink drop of color onto the packaging and went like: "Yeap, pointless gendered towards girls, but who cares"
