I thought it was normal to have stage names? many of these names have special meanings or are associated with persons or their appearance. a Korean name would be impractical for international fans. in addition, this name helps the idol to separate their lives in some ways? I think.

I think SM does it for some non-western members(like Winter, Karina or Victoria) because stage name wise it makes them stand out and makes it easier for westerners to pronounce.
