best South Korean act seems more like a rookie award only rookies seem to be nominated and you can only win it once. Bts won it in 2014 I think

No idea, didn’t even know that category existed till now

The "Best Korean Act" is an award local to Korea, like the option to vote for aespa would only be on the Korean site for EMA. On the UK site for EMA the options were Little mix etc. On the US site was different options. Each country/region had their own "Best *insert country* award".

The other categories are global and main awards. Best K-pop, Best group, Artist of the year etc and were available on all versions of the site.
