The more YouTube views, the more popular the Kpop artist?

If 470k is good, then I guess it comes down to perspective.

We are in 2021

Exactly. They started when lots of users on this forum weren't even born. It's like asking why currently popular songs have more views than those released 20 or more ages ago. 2nd and more important, these artists were never even popular in the west where lots of views come from. What did op expect indeed

Expect nothing bc YouTube didn't even exist back then.
I consider 470k views amazing given the circumstances. HOT are legends, YouTube views won't take any of their legacy.

I dont think youtube views show the popularity of the artist. for example, there are fandoms that just dont care about yt views, so they dont stream the mv, unlike other fandoms. another part is, that ppl just check out the mv, but it doest mean they will buy the album. for example psy's gangnam style. its still the mv with the most views, but that doest mean all the ppl bought the song.
and I think h.o.t fandom dont care about the views.

this is a terrible comparison OP

I mean different generation right

so many groups' companies buy ad-views for them so even among modern groups it's a terrible metric.

Everyglow has too many casual listeners (not even fans). Their sound is very friendly to western kpop fans but might not be their biased group. Me for example only listen and not buying their album - not attracted by the members
