Am I the only one who liked CL's Lifted?

That is what I am thinking is I am just used to rap and the lyrical content as that is what I grew up hearing in the areas I grew up in
-
I liked it but the concept was very America pandering and executed clumsily so I understand that people found it awkward.

I do not think there has been a release of hers I have disliked other than the song she did with Minzy in 2011 and the song Chuck on her newest album. Chuck is just a weird af song....

I think the mv turned people off more than the song. They could have handled the promotion better.

We need this to be YG's company slogan at this point.

It was a combination of things to me when the song dropped. It's not the worst song ever, but at the time, it did feel inauthentic because she was trying to rap about a lifestyle that she doesn't represent (ex. The references to 'forties' and 'getting lifted/high') No hate to CL. Not saying you have to live the life in order to be inspired or pay tribute. I still enjoy her music, but that song just missed the mark for me.

I like the significance of the song paying tribute to her fav.
