Like the minimum
because I've seen people discuss that minors shouldn't be allowed to debut
but what age should idols be allowed to debut at
I think 16-17 is fine

Depends on their concept I guess.
Personally I feel 18+, maybe 17+, but I guess there is a market for younger fans too with younger idols.
I see it as a job, and believe it is better done with a level of maturity.
16 and under where I live requires parent or guardian consent. Not sure if I like the idea of putting someone on stage in front of the world when they can't even legally make their own decisions.

i feel that they should at least have finished high school. if they drop out(or stop focusing) on their grades from like middle school and the team flops(which happens to 75% of non big4 groups), they're going to have trouble
at least if they finish high school, they still can pursue a degree in university and get a good job

Most of underage idols go to school
17+ seems reasonable to me

ye they do, but being an idol is a very time consuming job. As a 16 year old, studies take up 60% of the time i'm awake during school terms, it's not impossible but probably hard to score the same as your peers with much lesser focus on grades. It's kinda a risk to take, of course if you'll succeed, you'll be richer than everyone else but what are the chances

most idols go to performing arts school for high school and that degree is pretty useless for going to college in korea because its not really recognized

Honestly speaking 21+. They can finish their education that can support them for the rest of their lives or say look at idols like Dara and jisung.
Dara started entered yg for training at 23 and debuted as the visual at 25! Yoon Jisung debuted as the leader of wannaone at 26...
Grown adults in general will have more maturity when it comes to dealing with the ups and downs of idol life than literal children. They for most part may know how to handle relationships, privacy and finances. Like they know what they are getting into and even negotiate for better contracts.
The only party at a disadvantage here is the kpop company. They will no longer have malleable money making toys that they can project concepts onto and discard when they start getting a mind of their own. So yeah...
17 I think.
Just around the time they would be finishing high school doesn't seem terrible...
Of course, problems aren't solely an age thing. Agencies need to not overwork and pressure their idols alongside that.
