I think you're right. I bet a lot of them saw Korea as a stepping stone for their career anyway.

Plus with Produce 48 the only Japanese contestants we've seen stay in Korea are Juri and Sakura (and Miyu kinda)

Yaning, Ruiqi, wenzhe and Cai Bing should form their own global girl group and release English songs. It was international fans from a wide demographic who rooted for them the hardest so it would be a waste of their global popularity if they just focused within china. Also FYN's voice really suits eng songs more so than korean or chinese.

This is interesting, I've always viewed the Korean pop expansion into Japan and China being done because their market was bigger so this is a cool fact that I never thought of.

I also really don't understand it that much, probably people think it's that big because they have a huge population, but Japan is not a big country and they are the second biggest market.

Aside from population and disposable income, GDP per Capita is very important.

China is about 11K
