There is something strange with new kpop releases...

Some companies are putting a shit ton of money into these choreos so it's to be expected.

I can only speak for Savage, but indeed the performance is far more interesting and cooler than the MV. The MV is kinda jarring, the dark visuals vs the pink whatever place they are don't match at all, too many details in a MV for a song that already is too complex and detailed. Frankly I'm not a fan of any of aespa's MVs, Next Level is the best one though and I'd prefer if Savage had only focused in the dark aesthetic, the giant snake and the giant eye look glorious.

The best MVs are the ones where the more you watch, the more things you see. Lots of practice, camera movements, lighting effects, changing places and duality.

When the strong tones of the voice are cranked up visual by the flickering lights ... you already know that's it. The brain registers.

That means companies are doing a good job. It's addictive.

Same. I used to like MVs more but now I always have some problems with any mv (especially from Sm because they use cgi and closed places a lot). However, songs like Everglow's First and Loona's Paint it down are way better in MV because their MVs are aesthetically pleasing (especially first. Like those outdoor shots are what I wish SM spends money on smh).

Too much was happening in those MVs. It does look cool that they have many outfits and sets (basically screaming we have 'Money') but the storyline, continuity, and cohesion get sacrificed. That's why I usually listen to the official audio first before watching their MVs. Savage and Lalisa are good examples of this.
